• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have been stalking...wrong choice of words....following the forum for many years now! I have to say that the people on this site are nothing short of wonderful and helpful! This past summer I got the privilege of attending a BRP sponsored Demo Days here in Charlotte, NC. Got to ride a 2013 ST-S around the local race track at the warp speed of 45 mph. All I have to say is "Amazing". Now I'm totally hooked! I've been waiting to pay off my truck, which will be paid off around December. Was looking at getting a 2013ST-S until I started to read about all the issues with this year model. Now, looks like I'm going to wait and see what people are saying on the 2014! Hopefully by early next year there will be some good information regarding the heat issues with the 2014 and I will be ready to purchase one then! Looking forward to doing some riding and meeting some of the best people I've never met. Keep up the good post!

Welcome Gman9!!!

How did you manage to join in '08 and not post a single thing until now? Now THAT is the epitome of restraint. Hope you enjoy whichever model Spyder you go with...they're all a whole lot of fun to drive.

LOL! It's been hard not to post over the years...but I wanted to wait until a closer time of me getting a Spyder! I feel it's a little wierd for me to post with not actually having a Spyder yet! Key word being YET! 2014 is my year of the Spyder!

I admire your restraint at not posting...
Glad to hear that you're finally on the verge of joining the Spyderarchy! :congrats:
But I bet that you'll end up being a little bit mad at yourself for waiting so long! :D
:welcome:

Me too

My first post here also gman. Don't have a spyder yet either waiting on 2014 to see how they shake out. Almost pulled the trigger on a 2013 RT till I heard about the 14's. I too have been reading these threads and learning as much as possible, before I drop 30 G's, and have learned a tremendous amount and am thankful to all that have posted their experiences. Just so you know you aren't the only one lurking about and learning.

:welcome: Glad you decided to get the Spyder . . . and I agree that, once you get it, you will be sorry you waited! I planned on January of 2014, but my wife talked me into one in June (it took her one sentence! . . . "Why don't you buy the CanAm?") I love my 2013 RT, issues and all!

I have a 2013 ST-S and love it, just sayin'

there was someone on this forum selling a 2013 ST-S w only 800 miles and the recall done for only $17,000...great deal!

Waiting

I have been waiting long enough so a few more months wont kill me. But the deals that might/will be coming up on 13`s might, just might, change my mind but I am know for patience. With that said I was at the dealer in St. Augustine last night and they have an RT limited on the floor. Went there like I didnt know anything about Spyders, not that i know tons, to see how the dealer was. He did tell me about the upgrades to the 14`s. Gave him credit for that and like the fact that they will come to 4 or 5 surrounding counties and pick your ride up for service etc.. at no charge. But.. sure did want to ride that black one out.

Pick up

Gman9, have you inquired from your local dealer if they will pick your ride up for service etc at no charge?

The only dealer I've talked to was the one at the BRP Demo event. He was located up in Hickory. Didn't think to ask him about picking up the ride for service. There is a place called Matthew Fun Machines close by.... I probably need to talk to them. From what I've learned here on the site...NC is lacking in the dealer service dept.

Service

The place I was at is further from my house than one other dealer but I have not heard real good things about the the closer one. I did not ask anything about service except if they had factory trained techs at this place and was told yes then he told me about the pick up. Dont know if this is a normal thing in the spyder community but i think it is a great thing. Told me that if I was planning on going on a trip and needed work done, tune ups etc.. that they would pick up and deliver back to me. Points with me.

.:welcome: Have fun shopping for a :spyder: but don't wait to long........you're missing out on lots of fun!
