There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Best Hard Luggage

Now that many of you have fitted the frames for the Givi luggage amongst many, What is the general opinion on the best frames to fit on Spydie bearing fit, finish, good looks and ease of fitting, along with best prices and value for money. Ive also read that the Givi luggage is a very close match to the BRP colour of millenium yellow. What have you found ??
Your views would be much appreciated.
Will also have to ship to UK if the best comes from over your side of the pond !!!

Thanks Guys and Gals..

I very satisfied with the Givi V-35's. The rack doesn't look bad on the Spyder when the bags are off and it's very nice to be able to just take the whole bag into a hotel room when traveling.

I didn't go with the color matched, my bags go back and forth between the Spyder and my V-Strom, but the gloss black goes really well with the yellow and black Spyder.

Sounds like GIVI makes the best stuff ... but boy oh boy ... they are pricy. Especially their newer monokey series. You have to pay seperate for the mounting bracket.

Not as expensive as the Corbins.

No, but they are close in price when you add in the color match option, the hardware, and the cases.... close enough that if you are looking for something that looks like it always was supposed to be there and flows nice with the body lines of the Spyder that I would suggest going with the Corbin cases. I have the Corbin bags and I am very happy. I get so many compliments from people on them. Some don't believe that they are add-ons from another company. The GIVIs are convenient, but don't match as well IMHO.

Hey Spydergirl, I don't remember exactly what we paid for the mounting and Givi's not including the top case, but I am fairly sure it was not even close to the Corbin price. I am thinking at least $1000 cheaper. I will have to go back and see what we paid and if anyone minds posting the prices of the Corbins, we can compare.

Our price was $800 something, under $900 for the Industries7 GIVI rack and two GIVI bags installed. We were told we got a very good deal on them. :dontknow: I see Corbin's are $1700 for solid colors and $1900 for two tone. Industries7 current price is $370 for the rack and $420 for black V35 bags or $600 for color matched V35 bags. So total for an Industries7 setup is $790 for black bags and $970 for colored bags, still well under the Corbin bag price. Plus, Industries7 sells a rack that accomodates both E21 and E41 GIVI bags. The rack still costs $370 but those E21 bags are under $270. E41 bags are almost $700.

sunday morning ride - in less then one minute the givis are klickt off also the backrest und it looks more dynamic - then I had to find a good line
behind a kawa and some Bmw´s ...
thats the different to the corbins..its not a spyder its a chamälion

the rack I got from Contant/canada (thanks to a spyder-friend in australia)
cost 350 cad without airfreight to austria (another 300 !!)
and the givis V35 are cheap because paid in euros..300 E
..but I was happy to get that all in the ..right time (july) for my 25year honeymoon trip
at this time they had no topcase rack - so I don`t know if I will use one

+1, I bought the rack and gloss black V35's from Industries7 and it was under $800. Plus I can always add the rack for the topcase for the extra space if needed. The big selling point for me though was the fact that the bags can come off when not in use and the fact that I don't need to pack a bag and then stuff that into the saddlebag. I can just pack it like a suitcase and then be on my way.

Oh and the other fact was that Corbin treated one of my riding buddies very poorly on a custom seat order and therefore have lost my business. No big deal to them, but a matter of principal for me.

It's a matter of personal preference, and how much you want to spend.

GIVI makes luggage which is a more generic design that is interchangable with other motorcycles. They can (and are) therefore be produced in larger numbers and sold for everything from scooters to motorcycles to Spyders. So the cost per unit is lower.

CORBIN makes saddlebags designed specifically for the Can-Am Spyder that are not interchangeable with any other motorcycle. They are individually custom-made and hand-finished to order. So the final product looks like it came as part of the Spyder, straight from the BRP factory. The cost per unit of this one-off manufacturing is much higher.

The GIVI is designed so that the luggage can be removed, exposing the frame.

The CORBIN is designed so that the saddlbags are not removed (except for cleaning and general maintenance). So the frame is not exposed.

The GIVI frame is designed to hold the luggage farther up and away from the Spyder, which could alter the center of gravity when the bags are fully loaded.

The CORBIN is designed to hold the saddlebags low and close to the Spyder frame, which could minimize the impact to the center of gravity when fully loaded.

So if the deciding factor is cost, it's a no-brainer. Beyond that, it's whether you want luggage or saddlebags for your Spyder.

One addition:
The GIVI bags (most of them) open to the side.
The Corbin bags open at the top.

Also, there are two different GIVI mounts, depending on the bags chosen. The PLX mounts tuck in closer, and are contoured to fit with the V35 bags.

I don't think the usual center of gravity issues that affect two wheelers is the same on the Spyder. Also, for those of us concerned about the Spyder load limit of 740 lbs for two up riding, I think you gain a slight advantage with the Givi set up as the Corbin bags have to be heavier to begin with and if loaded quite a bit heavier.

pics

i have been comparing the two set os bags as well and was wondering if anyone with the givi coupld post some pics of them on the :spyder:the only pics i seen always show the :spyder:from a side view...what does it look like from a front and rear view?
