• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Dropped my spyder off at the dealer for recall repairs

The dealer called to tell me that the my MC and evap can were melted. The evap can was so bad it had a hole in it and they had to order in replacement parts. Let's see if this repair helps anything.

I also questioned my dealer, which is fantastic to work with, about the posting I read last night posted by Steve M. from Brp. The posting said to take our bikes to the dealer and request the BUDS be downloaded and sent to BRP to determine if a software fix would help the heat issue. Well, the dealer asked me to contact BRP for authorization, which I did, and to let them know the case number. This is where things get interesting. According to BRP support and my dealer, no one at BRP has suggested this service be performed or thinks anything would come out of it. May be this is just another way of keeping quit until they figure out a true fix....

As mentioned earlier, the kits for the recall are on their way to the dealer and should arrive ASAP if they aren't already there.

As for the heat issue you're having, the only step I can suggest at this time are to check with your dealer; there is definitely a possibility that your Spyder is running hot and there are steps that you or your dealer can take to try and reduce the heat affecting your right foot. When you bring in your vehicle for the recall, have them download and send us a BUDS report to mesure the Spyder's telemetry. From there we'll be able to see if there is anything we can do software-wise to reduce the heat level.

There is no incentive plan for users who wish to upgrade from a '13 to a '14 at this time.

I just got back from my dealership. I was there for about five hours today having my 600 mile service And my recall work done . I asked to see the bike once all the Tupperware was off. When they took me back the mechanic had all the plastic off and was working on the recall work. He was wrapping the evap canister And putting a bracket on near the master cylinder. The mechanic said he saw no signs of damage. On the way home it seemed a little hotter than normal around the glove box. I also still smelled heavy gas fumes when I pulled into my driveway.

If it was a snowmobile I would enjoy that heat cooking my "boys" but mine is hot around the glove box as well. But what can you do since heat rises. Also notice extreme fuel smell in my garage after parking it in there overnight, sure hope it don't burn down my house!
