There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Back when I worked in the Space Industry, with what we had to go through to obtain even the lower security clearances, this guy should have NEVER been given any kind of security clearance and should have NEVER been allowed on the Navy Yard in the first place. The background that is now coming out about this shooter is about as dirty as any I've ever seen and for him to be issued a security clearance of any kind is ridiculous. This tragedy COULD have been prevented. This is an example of the good old American Security process screwing up. Maybe they were reading our emails or listening to our phone conversations rather than actually doing their real jobs. Sorry, off my soap box. My sympathy goes out to all those families affected by this horrendous deed. May God give them the comfort they need to get through it...

Maybe, in the interest of mental health, we should require all gun owners to ride motors.

:agree: The idiot used a shotgun. According to local news (I'm local to DC) he never even looked at AR's when he went to the place he "legally" bought the shotgun.

i did some electrical work in a bank in new york city many years ago, and i became very friendly with one of the guards. he was a retired police officer and he said if a man walked in with a machine gun and a shot gun they were trained to shoot for the person with the shot gun first because he could do more damage than someone with a fully auto gun. i would of thought it would be the other way around
