• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Here's a look at the 2014 Can-Am Spyder lineup

Anyone know if the new seat will fit the older RT's and if you can buy as accessory? Back rest looks great!

Am I reading correctly that the 1330 ACE motor is bran-spanking' new? Not something used on any other platform?
MXZ600 might be better able to answeer this; but I think that they've been using a version of this engine in their sleds for a while now...
I think! :opps:

As near as I can tell it will but your dealer can say for sure.

Around 60-65 lbs...

Having driven the new RT I would say that the extra weight is not an issue. One of the things I disliked about the RT is when you gas it at a light it would fall on it's face before taking off. Now when you hit it you go. Much better acceleration from a light. :doorag:

Hmmmmm

At first glance I was a little upset with the new line up. Looking at them again today, the colors are actually growing on me. On the RS-S it looks like BRP took the lead from the way Lamont had his ST done up. Since I am planning on going from an RT to an RS-S I guess all I really have to do is decide what color I am going to jump on.

Well I have to apologize for putting down those folks who posted about a sixth speed and bigger engine.

I WAS WRONG!

Sounds like many moves in the right direction for touring.

Have not seen

much on storage on the new RT Ltd. Is their more, less, or the same amount as on the 13'. What I have seen so far on the 14' looks like a measurable improvement!!

WHen it comes to BRP's Roadster Focus, It's all about the seniors it seems.

I understand where their market dominance is.... It's NOT with Sport Riders.

No wonder the Can-Am Spyder is so strongly associated with Over the Hill riders....

Was disappointed with last years cosmetic upgrades and just as disappointed with this years focus.

As much as I love my RSS, I WISH Kawi or Suzuki would come up with a Sport oriented Reverse trike as competition so us Sport riders could get our fix.
BTW: No, the ST nor RT provide the same performance as the RSS.

What next year? An on board Dialysis device for those 70+ ?

In my opinion, BRP has again neglected their younger demo. Perhaps the "Younger/RSS" ideology is in violation of the Quebec Charter of Values and BRP has sided with the PQ?

They're still saying 155 litres of storage...
Derek, "Over the Hill..."
I prefer the term, "experienced"

I don't think that is in very good taste......show a little respect!

Wow! Hostility!:lecturef_smilie: I'm sorry you feel neglected. As my Mom used to tell me: Go outside and eat worms.

Maybe BRP decided to serve the market segment with the most money first. Or the RT has a larger margin. Who knows.

another disappointing model year. i suppose potential rt buyer might be delighted with 6th gear and new engine.

It's a lot more than just engine and tranny! It went from a high $$$ maintenance bike, to a low maintenance bike! Better mpg's, HP., TQ., larger tank, doubled the cooling, improved air flow. The 2014 is a major game changer. :spyder2: Tom :trike:
