• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Heat Issues: It Ain't Just Spyders

We are not talking about hot legs and feet....... melting engine parts and burning to the ground are just a WEEEEEEEEE bit different. Thanks to all of you for berating those with issues. Parked 3 weeks now. FB is not a happy camper, .... nojoke

I hope you don't think I'm Berating the heat issues, Because I'm not.
There are serous heat problems, And they need to be solved....A.S.A.P.......
I'm thinking a whole redesign of the engine compartment is in order,
But i don't think that will happen, Piece meal in the way BRP works....
That said People complaining about normal heat [not you guys] from
sitting on a heat pump [engine] and some of it' is from EPA reg's.
Make the engineers at BRP, Think some owners are Crazy...
[no new rope On that last sentence please]

Amen. This isn't heat on your right foot this is serious and I am also not a happy camper.

They wouldn't do that... they couldn't afford to lose that much revenue...
At least that's what their bean-counters will say! :gaah:

have you ridden a 2013 that has heat issues.....all manufactures have issues and recalls.....but it is only personal...when you own one. I did not complain with my 2009 RS...careful what you say...if you haven't walked in others shoes

:agree: Once you have paid close to $30K and the issues become personal--you have a right to complain. Just because HD and other brands have similar issues--does not make it right IMO. The other brands also need to fix the issues.

Between the federal govt. mandating certain things for emissions, and mandating how to make gas, and what additives to put in it, the nightmare just seems to get worse. I am also thinking this is a part of the nightmare mix causing problems pretty much across the board.

HD recall

Thank you, Faran for the heads up. Here at home,we are a blended family with hubby's 2009 HD Tri-Glide, and my 2010 RT-AC. Waiting for another recall :(:cus::gaah:

Thank you for this post Faran. Our oldest son rides a 2012 Harley Road King and we have passed the info on to him. Also to our brother-in-law who rides a 2012 Harley trike. This website is really a lifesaver in more ways than one. Thanks again.

I just heard from a FB friend who has her bike (2013 RT) in the shop for gas smells and brake problems. She was directed to a dealer who discovered more than just the master cylinder melting. Allegedly the charcoal canister was too. I thought that was metal. Am I mistaken? You definitely don't need that melting.

The emissions canister is plastic.
