• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I mounted mine under the dash using x grip but it vibrates to much, is there alot of vibration mounting it on top of the dash also what hardware do you recommend, i used the suction cup with double sided tape, the tape held just fine but the vibration was terrible.

Here's a helpful link to more info not only from us, but others as well

not a dumb question at all[/h]
all you have to do, is remove the 2 screws from the TOP of the dash. this will give you enough room to pry the 2 black plastic dash pieces apart, enough to get to where you need to work. i didnt take the brackets off to save time. doing so would give you full access to take them completely apart. but for mounting the ram-mount, you dont require that much room. hope this makes sense and helps, if not, just pm me and i'll give you my cell number and i can talk u through it. its not difficult at all, good luck ....... When we did this install, I just used the spare Ram parts that I had laying around the garage. Personally, I wouldn't have chosen a diamond ball-base as it only gives you two mounting holes. If I was doing it over, I'd probably use either a round or square base that would give 4 mounting holes. The way ours is, there is a little vibration but its not that bad at all, and never has caused an issue with being able to read the display. But I'm thinking having 4 mounting holes instead of two would probably help take out what little vibration we do have.

Hope this helps ;)

I believe that John (Jthornton) either has, or has been working on; a mount that attaches up in the area between the top dash cover and the windshield... :thumbup:
A true, "No muss; no fuss" mount!

I broke down and bought a UClear 100 so I can hear the Garmin, rather than having to see it . . . works great. The added bonus is that I can listen to Pandora on my phone, too.

GPS

Hey Guys & Ladies too;

I hate to say this and make everyone jealous but I have Bluetooth hearing aides. I can pair to anything, like my GPS my phone my radio and just anything that is Bluetooth. I don't even need to take my phone out of my pocket to talk. I have a streamer around my neck that picks up my voice. I don't have to have the volume on the TV at home because it also is Bluetooth.

My Hearing Aides only cost $8.000 4 or 5 years ago. Someone asked my wife when I first got my aides if I could hear now. She said "I only have to repeat myself once instead of 3 o 4 times".

I've thought about doing this too but I've always wondered if the RT-Ltd GPS cables are long enough to move the GPS from the handlebars to the dash.

I'm in the Technology industry and find your bluetooth hearing aides fascinating and cool. Not sure why I never thought to incorporate bluetooth tech into a hearing aid, since essentially most bluetooth earpieces are similar. This may sound wierd but it is the 2nd time in my life I have found myself in envy of a hearing impaired guy...the first time was in a diner where the guy in the table next to me leaned over after his wife excused herself and said to me "I just turn the volume on my hearing aid all the way down when she starts going on at me".

Rock on, Spyderfuzz!!!

problem is most hearing aids only last about 4 years

I get on the bike for peace and quiet. (Well; THAT, plus my music!:D)
I've got the navigator on the pillion trying to bark at me; I'm just not convinced that I need another one up front! :shocked:
