• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, she's in for her 12k service. Tech said it has to cool down for a day and then its a 8-12 hr job depending on valve work. Jeez, I miss her already:(. Hopefully back on the road by this saturday.:pray:.. To the rest of you's, keep three on the ground. L8R

12k Valve service? :dontknow:

The service interval was changed and the valve service isn't due until 14,000 miles. I'd get it back before they tear it down and drive it for another 2,000 before you spend the big bucks on that service.

Sadly..!!

you are not due for the valves. You should only need regular service 2/3 hours. And it sure doesn't need a day to cool down. Hope the shop rate is a fair one. They should know better...jmo..:dontknow:

A day to cool off-:wrong::bdh:they must be smoking some good really really good stuff.....My Dealer told me to skip the valve check unless its running really crappy. Its $550 cost just for it.

As others have noted, get it back, ryde it for another 2000 mi, and skip the valve check. BTW, a good dealer would have told you this service was not needed until 14,000 miles.

Thanks for the reminder! I'm ready for the 12K but now can ride another 2000 miles before worrying about it!

And a great many of us are skipping the valve chek till much later, like 25K or even more.

I did my most recent at 28,000 miles. It needed no adjustment. $800 extra for the security of knowing.

On top of all that--they did not install the valve gasket properly which caused an oil leak. That cost another $800 to fix--but I made sure it was on them.
