• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Confirmed USA 2013 RT-S MELTING

You don't need to wait for a recall. Get it back to the dealer and have it fixed. When the "fix" is approved, let them fix it again. Bad design should not equal BRP not fixing your bike. Your dealer can still get the "fix" parts and install them if BRP will let them.
Taking it to the dealer now is only going to get the dealer to 'store' your bike for you a while. BRP is not going to authorize a temporary fix while awaiting an approved fix as part of the recall campaign. All new 2013 RTs are on stop sale. Sorry to hear but for the moment, its wait an see. The bikes are out of service. And repairs to already sold bikes are going to take a back seat to repairs of sold and undelivered bikes due to financial issues. Its going to take a while for parts and service time to fix all these bikes.

Did I miss something? Did not hear anything official about 2013's on stop sale?

Wow a stop sale. I so glad the salesman at my local dealership told me about this site. Between the brakes causeing fires, the wobble at highway speeds, and the heat it throughs off it's got me as I was about to buy a 2013 rts se5. I guess I'm in a holding pattern now waiting till the 2014.

I almost think I'd want to see a nekkid 2014 before buying just to make sure they don't carry the same design flaws forward...

Look at it this way; Buying a 2013 might end up with you getting a bike that has already been "pre-disastered"... :roflblack: :joke:

True, But putting out 20 Gran +, I'd like to be able to ride it everyday. A few showers and maybe a week of cold weather it will get ridden. I just hope the insurance companies don't catch wind of the fires. That will raise the rate. lol

If they are just now acknowledging a problem with the heat I would more than bet the 2014 have the same design flaw as the 2013's. At this point in the design phase I'm pretty sure the bikes are already being built. They may go ahead and throw the shield on the 2014's before selling but I doubt the design was changed. This is just me thinking aloud as I type so I could be very wrong.

The 2014 are prob already on the assembly line...it seems late in the year to be changing a 2014 design..."also" just me thinking out loud

plastic and heat do NOT mix

who is the person that puts "plastic" this close to a heat source? When we where racing Quarter Midgets the plastic fuel line ran within 2 inches of the exhaust so I wrapped my fuel line in insulation, went to the Grands in CT and was deemed "illegal" in the inspection area after winning the feature " for cooling the fuel " ? hello??? well finally 2 years later after many fires the fuel line has to be now" braided steel " ...sometimes no common sense

2013 stop sale???

I was in Honda Suzuki of Jackson Ohio today. They had about half a dozen 2013 RT-S and Limiteds on sale with a $3000 discount. You could get a 2013 RT-S for $20499. They advertised it as a model year clearance sale.

Where is the official recall information

I seem to be missing something.. where is the official recall notice (or link to it)
Don't see it on BRP's website
Thanks

I have a 2013 rt , what Tupperware do you pul to check this ? I am not a mechanic ):
YOu've got to dig down to the "guts" on the right hand side of the bike...

The good news, is that your owner's manual has very complete and precise instructions on how to do it!
