• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Aftermarket Seat

Looking to purchase an aftermarket seat for my 2013 RTS-SE5. Not sure if we want a corbin, ultimate or the Can Am Spyder touring seat. So my question is, is there anyone in the Greenville, SC area that has purchased an aftermarket seat that would be willing to let my wife and I sit on it to check it out before spending Big $$ on a seat we "may like". Live in Taylors, SC and you can reach me at: [email protected] please put " aftermarket seat" in subject line so I don't delete you as spam mail. Thanks Spyder riders. Ride Safe.

Check Ultimate's 14 Day Trial Period

I live on the opposite coast but thought i'd offer my 2 cents worth. Ultimate will allow you 14 days (from the day you receive the seat) to try it out. If you don't like it, return it! Installation is very easy and there is a post on this site with an excellent video that makes reading the instruction almost unnecessary. I had mine installed in about 90 minute and could have done it quicker if I wasn't watching a baseball game at the same time.

Also, I had a Corbin on a previous bike and they take a really long time to break-in. Not so with the Ultimate. I was also less than satisfied with the quality of the Corbin and had to send it back twice for quality control problems. My experience may have been an anomaly but others I've spoken to have mentioned similar issues with recent Corbin seats.

I have an ultimate seat arriving tomorrow . Will update status regarding quality , after installation . Mine is a tall boy with backrest and custom design . If you order custom design, it is not refundable but , I am assuming if there is a quality issue they will correct it. Did a lot of research and decided on this brand .

Got an Ultimate seat a couple of weeks ago. The install must be fairly straight forward because I DID IT MYSELF - with the help of the instruction sheet and video. Folks at Ultimate were very helpful and courteous. I put about 1,000 miles on it last week. The first couple of hundred miles I was wondering if I had made a mistake. Couldn't really tell a big difference. BUT, the last few hundred miles, I can tell the seat and I will get along just fine! Quality is excellent and I really like the appearance of silver/black on my white RT. Would I recommend an Ultimate? Ohhh yahhhh! :D

Ultimate seats are great and I have one..... for sale! $900 + shipping

I bought an Ultimate tallboy seat a couple months ago for my 2012 RT Limited. It is black with pearl white full inlay with drivers backrest and a white spyder embroidered at the back of the drivers seat. It is in mint condition, not a spot on it. These seats are 100% more comfortable than the stock seat. My mistake was buying a tallboy. I am 5' 10" and all us guys think we are bigger than we really are...... I like my arms to hang down in a relaxed state and due to the 1 1/2 inch extra distance to the bars, I have to have my arms extended which is not as comfortable for me. I paid over $1,100 with shipping and would like to recoup $900 so I can purchase the exact same seat in the mid rider. Email me at [email protected] for pictures. I live in the Summerville, SC area and if you are close we may be able to figure out something to save on shipping. Generally the shipping charge is somewhere around $50. Call me at 716-708-8419.

Received my seat today took about an hour to install . Quality is great , very comfortable ! Great job on Spyder emblems !!
I highly recommend the ultimate seat , now understanding my RT Limited came with an ultimate seat , but the tall boy gave me an inch and half more room . This one is firmer and more comfortable ,
Oh yes yes

ultimate seat

OH that's why. I have an RT S ES limited and hearing everyone changing out their seats. I couldn't understand it because my seat is plenty soft. Is it really true, the RT limited comes with the ultimate seat?

Larry:

I have a '12 Spyder RT Limited and the factory seat is definitely not the same as the Ultimate seat I ordered and installed a couple of month's ago. The seats may be made by the same manufacturer located in Toronto but I can assure you the Ultimate seat I bought (not the tall boy) is much firmer and has more space for the driver (17" front to back) than the Spyder Limited Comfort seat.

I could ride the stock seat for about two hours before I began to lose feeling in my butt. My most recent ride this week had me in the seat for more than five hours without a problem. Also, the Ultimate seat has more lateral support under the thighs than my factory seat did.

you are correct . looks very similar , I agree 100% the ultimate seat is better .tried to add pics , but file is too large ):

The Limiteds do not come with an Ultimate seat as standard equipment; they get the standard OEM Butt-cushion, with some fancy embroidry on it...

:opps: Didn't mean to steal your thunder... :opps:
You DID say it first...
I think that I may have been looking for more references to the Limiteds being equipped with the Comfort Seat from BRP; which they aren't.

Ultimate Seat

I just told my butt it would have to live with it. I'm not spending $1,000 bucks for a seat when I can spend it on gas and give my butt a rest every 100 miles when I fill up my:spyder2:. I'll just get a piece of foam rubber and let my friend at the awning shop make a pillow to sit on. You know like they make for a horse to go under a saddle only put it on the top of the seat and tuck it under.

I think a saddle blanket would be too thick for what you have in mind. They are usually like three thicknesses sewed together.

You may want to look at saddle covers. Any good horse tack shop should have a selection of them. They go over the saddle and are designed to wrap around and under with straps. My wife has one and it was on her 2010 RT and has been on her 2012 for over a year now.
