Mixing Different End Links...

Soooo... What if I only had enough time tonight to replace one of the OEM links with one of Ron's? :shocked: pps:
Can I finish the job on Thursday; or could there be damage?

I don't see what the harm could be. Even if they are slightly different in overall center to center length all that would do is load the bar slightly, attempting to induce a slight lean. Couldn't be enough to be noticed at all. From what I could see, the length was the same anyways.

I don't recommend it. My links are a bit longer than stock. Uneven links will pre-load the sway bar. I don't think it will necessarily hurt anything. But then I haven't tested it either.

I find that hard to believe but I've seen those posts. I've ridden my GS without a sway bar and it's pretty noticeable. Not really dangerous as long as you take it easy. But no fun either. I was glad I didn't have to go very far that way.

That's actually not even close to being true...
Getting the A-arm cover off was a major trial and error effort... I finally found an 8mm socket that I could use with an adapter on a very short 3/8 drive extension...
Getting eyes on the upper link mount was another issue...
This seriously DOES stretch my meager abilities.pps:

However; I do have to say that after seeing how those parts are knit together; the 2013s have a MAJOR advantage in strength! They're supported on both sides, and the bracketry bridges the gap on the A-arms; making them stronger. Our older bikes just kind of have the mount tacked onto the front strut of the arm... :shocked:

:hun: Mistake one you don't need to take the cover off. You do however need to get it up on ramps to get it from underneath or the ability to be REALLY good under the sheets :roflblack:

From what I could tell with my paws; it seemed that popping those covers was the easiest way to have enough access to them...
I need lots of ifghting room around "Ground Zero", when I go in for the kill! :thumbup:
