• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi Guys,

Just wanted to introduce myself. Im up from NJ and I just got my hands on a 2008 GS SM5. It was a gift for my 40th birthday from my wonderful wife :). I am a newbie motorcycle/trike rider, so I am taking it one day at a time, slow and steady. I just got my permit, and Im going for the training classes at FDU this weekend. So I have alot to learn. But i am really enjoying every moment of it :). I posted a pic below, But i have put the original gray Frunk cover back on. Any honest opinions on the Red one? Dont worry I have my flame suit on :).

Thanks and I really must say I am humbled to be around a group enthusiasts, I have alot to learn. Hope to see some of you during Spyder Quest.

Thanks,
Fas

Congrats on your Spyder Fas2000. I'm from NJ too. Just take your time and get used to it, you are really going to love it, I'm enjoying the hell out of mine.

WOW!!!

Kudos to your wife!! A very thoughtfulgift! You must have been on your best behavior! My first Spyder was a Red, 2008. Enjoy your new gift. And you might want to take your wife out to dinner very soon - maybe as a passenger on your Spyder? Let the fun begin. (PS: Wife and I are from NJ as well- but that was 58 yrs ago).

WOW

Thank you for all the encouraging comments. The board and the community is a huge part of the ownership satisfaction.

Spydaman I'm from Teaneck.. About 3 miles from the GWB. Not the best of roads up here but Ill take what I can get.

I think the weather calls for rain for the next 3 days.. so I'm itching to get out there on the road again... And I have to start getting some sleep and ease off of scouring the site all night :). Its pretty addictive at first :).

O and as for my wife. Yeh, I am really lucky that she still puts up with me after 13 years of marriage, let alone gets me one of these. I mean it is not like we are so well off that this is just some disposable income on the side that she decided to tap into. We have kids and we both work hard. So for her to of saved up for this, and decide to get me this as a birthday gift, I feel truly blessed.

thanks again to all!

Welcome. I wish you miles and smiles. Good luck on the license course. My wife completed the three wheel course at Piscataway and great instructors. Hope you have the same experience.
