Just purchased an IPad & testing it out. What is this tap talk thing that keeps popping up? :dontknow: And do I need it for spyderlovers forums?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

You do not need it to access everything on spyderlovers with your IPAD. It is supposed to enhance they experience on a tablet, but I have never used it, as I do not like when something is forced on me in a little bit of a spyware way.:lecturef_smilie:I am able to do everything on my iPad without it. I think you might have to pay for it also. Not needed unless you really want it!:dontknow:

Nope it not required its just a app that gives you access to the forum. And maybe stores your login info for faster access

:2thumbs: Thanks folks! I do believe I can do without it. I downloaded it but wasn't too impressed with it. Maybe at a later time, so I deleted it off the IPAD.

I am on this forum as well as the GoldWing and ST Owners forums every day and have never used Tap A Talk
I think you have to pay for it it's an app. I haven't felt the need for it as yet... I do not own a PC all the computers
here in the shop and home are Mac, I use my iPad when traveling and my iPhone as well.

Same here. I use it on my iPhone just because it makes it easy to read the boards but on the iPad there's really no need and it limits what you see on the board.
I downloaded the latest version of Tapatalk and it has a nice look to it but it was a pain to setup and I don't see it being any more useful than the old version.
