• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Park brake lock up

I left my spider setting for 2 weeks. When I got on it the parking brake wouldn't release. I tried the switch serial times. Tapped on the brake thinking the release was stuck. Finally took Tupperware off thinking I could release the cable. Could not rotate the lock mechanism. My ? Is what do you do to unlock the park brake. It unlocked after pushing the switch about 50 times.

Have to agree..!!

:agree: if your not good at looking inside switches, time to see the dealer...!!:gaah:

My 2010 RTS sat in the garage all winter. When I started it up and was ready to leave, the nrake light would not go off. After a few choice words, I put it in reverse and backed out of the garage with the light still on. After a couple of days, the light started to work like it should.

Question not answered

I would like to know if this happen on the road what could you do to get the bike moving again. Short the switch out/how to do? Cut the parking brake cable? There should be something you can do to get back on the road.

My brake would not release for me while in a parking on vacation this year. I found that the wrench in the tool kit, while not the correct size, fit well enough to loosen the cable adjustment on the brake assembly on the rear wheel enough to where I was able to remove the cable and get the bike rolling. I now carry a small crescent wrench so I have a tool that will fit a few more sizes of fasteners.
