• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Major Exhaust Leak

Well had a bit of fun on the way back from Maggie Valley. 40 miles west of Nashville confirmed that I had an exhaust leak somewhere. Keith pulled up the nearest dealer on his GPS. America's Motorsports in Nashville, 40 miles back up the road. We followed his Garmin from BRP but it led us to there old store location, had the right address, just wrong GPS #'s. followed mine and found the store. They were telling me that they close at 4pm but would see what they could do. They had gaskets and I had tools so if they did not finish the job I could. Found out I did not need gaskets, only have 4500miles, I had a broken exhaust pipe. They said they could not fix that. I said do you have any exhaust pipe around, nope. Do you have any sheet metal, just some license plates. So, 3 ring clamps and 1 & 1/2 license plates later back on the road again. Made it home, 700 miles with no more issues. Looking at the weld, it appears that it never heated up one of the pipes, just flowed over it. They want me to take it to a dealer and have them diagnose the problem. I think the picture says it all.

well I did have fun. I tried to send pic to BRP and have them send part to dealer, but they said no. Dealer must diagnose problem. Tried to talk to the Quality Dept. Nope, they don't talk to customers and no I can't send email either. I thought they would be interested in in a bad weld that was blowing exhaust on the gas tank. Hopefully it is just mine and they don't have a large batch of 2012 rts's with this problem.

The Ga Blue Knight is here through the weekend....be sure to try the veal and please tip your waitress....(not sure how to type in a rimshot sound). :)
Gotta admit that was a good one! Both the repair and the follow up comment!

Sent from the corner of walk and don't walk....

There were a few 2010s that had this problem. Yours is the first I have heard of the issue since then. Your dealer will undoubtedly replace the pipe under warranty.

nice work spur of the moment to keep you on the road. Now to get it repaired..good luck try to get them to get the parts before they tear it all apart and hold your bike for weeks..

A note on the GPS and the Garmin GPS data, I too found out that they are not very well updated, my dealer here in Houston Mancuso Team Motorsports SW moved back in 2011, and to this date, the data in the GPS is wrong. Still points to the old address/place.

Correct address is:
7250 Southwest Freeway
Houston TX 77074
713-995-9944

ZWolf.TX
Cypress TX

That is the exact place my wifes pipe broke and then mine broke 2 months later (both our Rt's were 2010's) . I know my dealer did 7 of them and they aren't a huge dealer , so there were more than a few me thinks.... I also , like Scotty , have not heard of any 11's or 12's doing that.

If someone has the same problem. Go to the local plumbing supply and get a NoHub band, just leave the rubber insert out and the stainless steel band will cover the broken pipe.

I had this same crack on mine with less than 2000 miles on it and it's a 2011. It was fixed under warranty and I installed a band clamp to prevent it from cracking again. I got the band clamp idea from this thread. http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...ipe-crack&highlight=Exhaust+pipe+weld+cracked
