• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Enjoy and ride safe. God Bless us all.

Congrats and welcome to the insanity that is Spyder ownership. Nice that you had a long trip to get the feel of the Spyder. I am a displaced Bluenoser and have it on my Bucket list to ryde back for a family visit. Enjoy the Spyder and be prepared for the extra time it takes to fuel up as it attracts people like honey does bees.

Hey Retirednick, I've been noting your rydes, like out to Pigeon Lake. I have family in Edmonton/Calgary so I'll be out there to ryde in the next few years. I have two nephews going on a ride in Edmonton this weekend, 2 wheelers. In july they are both coming home to NS and we are going around the Cabot Trail; a Spyder, a sport bike, a sport tourer, my brother on a GW and my cousin coming up ffrom Boston on a Harley!

Welcome to our World!! :2thumbs: :ohyea::yes:
Here's my High School Graduation photo; just to end this speculation... View attachment 68870

Must have been early high school. First time I've seen you with hair! :roflblack: Your eyeballs and nose were smaller then too, and you've lost that look of intelligence! :roflblack::roflblack:

I know I can't out-post you so I'm taking the first shot before I lose! :ohyea:

Same here

Newbie as well. Had the Spyder a couple of months. Live in the Colorado Springs area purchased the RT-SE in Phoenix. The first ride was almost 1000 miles. Cant wait for the next trip!

Newbie Here also!

I picked up my Spyder RTS SM5 on May 25.:2excited: I love it. But there are a couple of things I think I need to have checked out at my 600 mile check-up.

#1: My brake pedal seems to go way down. I'd like to be able to adjust it so I don't feel like I'm "down to the floor" when stopping. I do use engine braking along with the brake pedal.
#2: I live in the desert and the other day it was about 100* out. It felt like I had heated seats at the front of the seat near the glove box. I felt as if my inner thighs were burning up.

We're planning on going cross country in July and really need to address this heat problem!
We're also going to be installing a Bararon Sway Bar.
So if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it.

Brake pedal travel. If you're braking with your toe, try using the ball of your foot. Whatever you do, do not rest the toe of your foot on the brake pedal 'bad stuff happens'.

Heat? You'll find folks in your area that have done things to help with heat. Look on the home page upper right for groups/clubs, then Nevada.

Read this and save it. You'll be glad you did.

Thanks, Jerbear

Thanks, Jerbear, for the input.
I am braking with my toe. I'll try to use the ball of my foot and see if that makes a difference. Maybe I need to put a "block" on the pedal to make it feel higher.
I am very conscious of moving my foot away from the brake when riding because I had to do that with my 2-wheeler when I put on floorboards.
I read the do's and dont's the day I got my Spyder. Lot's of great info there! I also am shifting between 4200-5000 rpm.
I tried to find as much information about the heat escaping from between the seat and the glovebox and I could. I can't find any "fixes" for this problem. The only suggestions I find are wrap the exhaust with heat tape or put some weatherstripping on the underside of the seat to seal the gap. I'm going to try the weatherstripping and see what happens.
And also carry some water and a "cool" wrap to keep my inner thighs from burning. Maybe I'm sitting too close to the glovebox??
I'm willing to try anything!
