• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Bug Guber...Help Needed

I know there have been lots of posts on how to clean your Spyder. I have even contributed to a few of them. I thought I had a handle on it, until a few 100 miles on rural roads this week. Went to clean the bike today and :cus: . I can't get all the bug guber off the front of the bike. The Spyder has it so bad, there is even bug splat on the inside of the windshield. I am not even sure how that happens!!! Anyways. Could use some help with recommending some Spyder friendly bug gut remover for the painted surfaces. Thanks.

I tried the 50/50 hydrogen peroxide / water mix. It made the bugs disolve off the windshield very good. I have not worked up the energy yet to de-bug the rest of the :spyder2:. Any volunteers :roflblack::roflblack:

Spray area with water to knock of any grit. Fill a small pail with water. Add car wash soap(not household soap), use a automotive style wash sponge and elbow grease. My trip across Texas last year was bugs - a - plenty and it cleaned up fine using this method. If you have yet to lay down some quality wax it'll take a little more elbow grease.

EDIT: Sponge tip. If it's big, cut the sponge into different sizes. Makes for more manageably use. tol

Perhaps speak to Pete at Powersports Wrap and get him to design a "bug guts" wrap for you so they will just blend in? Jerbear has you covered and the wax part is mucho important!

In Florida where we have the infamous love bugs, Folks use bounce dryer sheets.
BUT beware they can take wax off surfaces, so use with caution, but they will get the bugs off.

Bugs!

Add water to bug residue. Let sit for a couple of minutes. Bugs will rehydrate, and can be easily removed via rinsing and using a wet rag. I am sure that I've killed every bug east of the Cascades a few times, and this method works. Unless the bugs are nuclear, and glow in the dark, of course. Then be sure to wear personal protective gear. <M>

They are nuclear

Lightning bugs up north commit suicide and continue to glow minutes after having done so. So, they're nuclear......I B darn!

:agree: It is how I get the bugs off all my vehicles since I found out about it a few years back

Plastic and vinyl cleaner works great

Then follow up with some Honda polish, works great.

Wet a towel and leave it on there an hour or so. It will soften the bugs. Hot water on the towel is even better. After that, take a microfiber towel and lots of water to it, or use your favorite cleaner.
