• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you protect IPhone from weather?

Water Proof iPhone

I have a CanAm Tank Bag it has a clear plastic pocket on the top
I put the iPhone in there I can see it just fine. Before that I used a
ziplock bag

Try an Otterbox with a RAM Mount

+1

I dropped my iphone at 65 mph and went back and got it , it scratched one corner of the the otterbox and the phone did not even shut off. NO damage, and I am hard on my stuff, best 20 dollar investment you can make.

Lifeproof case

Absolutely weatherproof and Lifeproof. My iPhone has been thru it all and hasn't missed a beat. I have a ram mount with the "X" thingy to hold it.

The best set up I have seen is offered thru Twisted Throttle. I bought it and love it. It comes as a complete kit.

Both the hubby (Tobor 9) and I have the Lifeproof case. He got his 1st. He hadn't hooked it all the way to the holder and it dropped going about 70mph. No problem. Ordered mine from Amazon and it didn't come with the thingy (Love those technical terms!!!) to silence it. Called Lifeproof and they sent the piece - while I was talking to them mentioned that the clear plastic front of the hubby's case was scratched. They sent out a replacement that day - no charge!!! I like that in a company.

Otter Box

First I used the tank bag but in the heat the phone got to hot and shut itself off :( Then I bought a mount that fits on the stearing . It didn't fit the otter box so I had to "drill a spot out" once fixed worked fine. Then I got a life proof 1) didn't fit mount 2) you can only use factory chargers with it...became a big issue. I'm back to my otter box I had a plug put in under my seat so I can run power to it never have to worry about loosing power and no more problems. Im sticking with the otter box. I tried using the back seat driver as a GPS for a while but she kept getting me lost ...useless that one lol

What do you mount the X-grip mount to?

I was inspired by someone here who has theirs mounted off the handlebar trim plate on the RS. But I have the Heli bars ordered with the ball where the ignition key sits, so I'll have mine mounted there.

Thanks. I have an RTS.

The Ram website has a Lamonster video about the X-grip: http://www.rammount.com/Gallery/ramxgripphonemountcanam/tabid/4416/Default.aspx

and there is another set of pics from someone else: http://www.rammount.com/Gallery/rammounts2011spyderrtsse/tabid/4452/Default.aspx

I need to do some more research about it.
