• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

USELESS FACT......

Spiral staircases in medieval Castile's are running clockwise. This is because all knights were right-handed.
When an intruding army would climb the stairs they would not be able to use their right hand which was holding the sword because of the difficulties of climbing the stairs. Left handed Knights would have had no troubles, Except left handed people could never become Knight's because it was assumed that they were descendants of the Devil.....

You have made my day complete with that information. If I attack any castles I will try to do so from the top down.

Thank you for more trivia to add to my file. People are amazed at some of the stuff I can pull out when needed. All thanks to people and places like this.

Gotta love the information that won't get you a free beer for sharing it!

Unfortunately, my mind is cluttered with the nonsense... and I am thirsty!!:D

That ties in with Merry-go-rounds. When first invented the knights would ride them to practice jousting, and they had to rotate counter clockwise due to the knights being right handed. Also why the most common animal for a Merry-go-round is a horse.

PS. I would never made is as a knight because I am left handed, but not of the Devil (anymore)

For the same reason that the Brits drive on the left. Being right handed, their swords are carried on their left side. So when passing on a road, their swords wouldn't hit each other.

As a Southpaw; I'm going to have to take exception to this whole, "descendents of the Devil" thing...

Close, but we rode on the left so you could see if the on coming rider had a weapon in their right hand or not.
