• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

holder for an Ipass

I am looking for a holder for my Ipass---any suggestion.
Thanks

I suppose your I-Pass is the same as our PikePass here in OK.

Had occasion to stay on I-44 when we went to Spyderfest and 412 heading home. (Normally I stick to the back roads.) These are both partial toll roads. Had the pass stuck on the windshield on our way to Springfield. Decided to lay it on top of the bag in the frunk on the trip home just to make sure it would work there which it did.

Our PikePass for motorcycles is in a plastic box with three suction cups on one side. Holds fine on the windshield, not so much on the under side of the frunk. Tried Velcro on the underside of the frunk but the adhesive eventually gave it up.

It appears however that yours is like our "other" PikePass which sticks on the windshield. I would think you could stick something like the pocket a packing slip fits into on the underside of your frunk lid. Slip your pass into it and be good to go.

Ipass

I also put mine in the mesh pocket in the frunk. Be sure to also add your Spyder license plate to your account in case of a malfunctioning reader at tollbooth.

Question: I have heard that there are different Passes available... With or without a trailer in tow...
I have to assume that you've got to have the right pass, depending on what is, or isn't behind you...
What happens if you go through a tollbooth with the wrong pass out?

In Florida you use the same Ipass with or without trailer. The sensor counts our axels and charges accordingly. I can use the same unit in my truck while solo or towing my triple axel toy hauler.

I have the EZ pass, for my pickup truck, And i tow a lot and no special pass is needed for a vehicle towing a utility trailer, Sensors at the toll booths pick up the extra axle and bill you accordingly.
I also have an EZ pass registered for motorcycles, The car pass will work for motorcyles also.

So Bobogera, if you wheelie through the sensor, can you save some money?:dontknow:

Thanks guys! I've resisted getting one of the passes for several reasons;
I don't like my State having their hand in my wallet
I don't like them having the ability to monitor AND TIME me during my rides
I'm an old-fashioned slug... :opps:
But it appears to be coming...:gaah:

Bob, These gadgets are far more convenient for the Ryder - no fussing with tickets and cash and typically NO STOPPING.

In NY there are gates on many of the toll bridges and tunnels, and you need to be able to hand your EZ pass to the officer should it fail to trigger the gate. I was able to remove the suction cups from my pass holder (they wouldn't hold) and use cable ties to attach the holder to the windshield mounts in the center.

I have 4 EZ's got them when they first came out, I drove into Matthan every day, And every day i would shoot right to the toll booths at the Lincoln tunnel, Laughing at the fools in a mile long line at the cash booths.
Cash or EZ pass, Their still in your pockets at the toll booths.

I have Ezzy pass. I mounted it on the inside of the Frunk lid. So far I've used it all the way to 64 in Virginia. I love it with these new high speed lanes. No stopping or slowing down except to speed limit (some times).
