• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS body panel screws

OK My fellow Spyder Lovers that have been doing mods for sometime now. I sure hope I'm not the only one, that when working on mods and removing body panels a screw or two seems to run away before you competed the mod. I trying to pay attention to those small details and replace a missing screw here and there but having a hard time finding the screws to purchase. Dose anyone know where to purchase said screws. The best I can tell is the screws are M-6 X 1 Low Profile Button Head Torx Machine Screw which has been black oxidized.. I can find screws M-6 X 1 Trox but not black oxidized or other various features but not all in one screw. Looking to buy a couple dozen (not that I'm missing that many) for spares. Thanks in advance and I hope all had a great time at Spyder Feast and Safe Travels, Hoping to make for my first next year.

They are blackened stainless. I haven't found a good source. I just bite the bullet anfd get them from the dealer. That way they also have the ScotchGrip threadlocker applied, too.

I'm wondering if you could dip them in gun blueing , cook them in the oven to harden. Just a thought.

Auto parts..!!

i find them at the auto parts stores in the body fasteners. Both the screws and the clip on nuts. Some don't carry the shinny ones but flat black which you can switch out for the hidden ones...

You can get all of them you want at Granger Supply a national supply house
they also have lock tite blue and red.

From what I understand, you have to be careful with the loctite and plastic. Trying to get the screw thru the hole without getting loctite on the plastic may be a little difficult.

Thank you for your responces! I do like the idea of getting them from a dealer. My dealer however said they don't care spares HMMMMMMM really ! So does anyone have an email or contact info Pitball Power Sports to see if they can support my request. That way I feel like I'm doing my part (OK VERY samll part) to help support a dealership that is so good to us Spyder lovers!

Are you saying they won't order them for you? If not, I'd sure worry about that dealer.

Holy Moly......................

Thanks bigsims330 for the link. Wow, at that price you can order sets in different colors to change up your look. Will definitely order from them immediately.

Do you plan on changing them all to socket heads instead of torx? It's a much better price than the torx head from the dealer at around $5 a piece.

I think I may change all of mine and get the 3 different colors to match the panel colors on my spyder.

Doh! That was one of the things I was supposed to do for my wife while I was there as she is missing a couple. Of course I totally forgot about it. :banghead:

DID YOU JUST SAY THAT YOUR WIFE WAS MISSING A FEW SCREWS??????????? You are in trouble now. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:
