• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. SpyderFest 2013 Springfield's Finest..........

OK, after much prompting I decided to post my experience with a couple of Springfield's finest, here's how it went down. I'm sitting on my Spyder in the back parking lot of the Best Western when 2 motorcycle cops drive by me but return a minute later, stop their HD's fully dressed police motorcycles and walk towards me, at this point I was a wondering what I had done wrong? But I soon found out they were just curious about all the Spyders around town and wanted to see one up close and ask some questions. These two police officers were very cool, one was a little older I would guess from the other but both very nice. I asked them while talking about my Spyder if they had business cards because I was going to tell others that I got in to trouble with the "Law". The older one said "Shoot!!! I'll write you a ticket"..........and he did!!!! Complete with all my information, now I'm getting a little nervous again but all was well. Now you just have to read the ticket to get the rest of the story!

When I wlaked out of the hotel Thursday afternoon to go to the drag races ther officers were sitting in front of my Spyder giving him the ticket. My first thought was "what did I do".:roflblack: I'm sure glad it wasn't me who got the ticket!:roflblack:

Special..!!

Worth framing to bad you didn't get a photo to go with it. Great memories are made in some strange places..!!

While stopped at the Hungry Farmer I had an officer pull up behind me and get out :dontknow:

Just wanted see why all the Spyders and get a closer look. I guess the word did not get out to everyone.

The "special" ticket is worth "framing" (pardon the pun) and keeping for for posterity. That will have to be a one of a kind keepsake.

:agree: with all of the above...

A couple of folks asked me what the deal was with these strange bikes...
I told them that, "The Mother Ship Has Landed; Nanu nanu!" :roflblack: Mork.jpg

Good story.
The only day we did a good ride with good weather was Thursday and I found there to be plenty of cops out and about. Saw 5 within 15 minutes. The last two had some kind of checkpoint set up. We had just come through some twisties on 14 heading towards Ava and I had slowed down from triple digits... came over a hill and BAM.... they had a checkpoint about 1/2 mile down the road... both cop cars had flashers on, etc....

I thought I was toast, but they simply pulled us over and checked registration and licenses, insurance, etc..
They were very nice and even gave me some options on our route that worked out to be better roads to ride. I told them to go easy on us Spyder riders because we're all pretty nice guys and gals.... he said just don't go faster than you can afford. I told him that some of us refer to tickets as 'track fees'... lol.

So I quickly texted Doc,Seth,Len, etc. to let them know of the checkpoint, etc. so no one would get busted.

I find it a bit odd to have such a checkpoint on a Thursday afternoon at 2:00... and am not used to these being legal. In Michigan they can't just pull you over for no reason.... you have to have a moving violation first. Still not too keen on these random checkpoints, but they were nice to visit with at least.

Nice to have a ticket-proof Spyderfest!
