There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. If you need suspension help ill do my best, the pit-crew and I have done elka's on 2013s RT's it's not a hard setup just complicated we can do our best to help.... Give us a call 417-863-1418

After reading thru all these post concerning this problem, am I suppose to believe that the Spyder needs to have the ryder seated on the machine, while being aligned, and or adjusted, whether he may weight 325 lbs, or his 105 lb wife, or his 145 lb son, or weather the trunk is full or empty ????? I don't think so !!!!
I hope the OP gets this problem behind him, but he just may have to take it to Pitbull Powersports.

No, you aren't supposed to believe that. I mearly suggested it as a way of determining if this particular bike had incorrect alignment under the riders weight. It's not the factory procedure. The factory procedure has the dealer replace the shocks with struts that lower the bike to a preset loaded level. This would be the rough equivalent to having the bike loaded to its load limit.

They do use struts; to simulate a loaded bike. If the rider or the load falls beyond the expected ranges; then putting them (or an accurate representation) on the bike would make sense.

So if somebody steps over the line a bit; just gently guide them back to where the acceptable behavior lies...

After reading this entire thread I like this post the best. Rabtech originally posted in frustration to his "friends" the issue he was dealing with. If it were me I would be upset as well. While he may not have come across the way some us felt was right we need to understand his position and "gently guide him back". I don't think he should have to look at SLs as " another door shut on him". Bob said it well.

Ron,

I don't think a poll is necessary. We have Lamont to make those decisions; not a good idea to get everyone involved, before this post really goes astray.

In regard to the 'prudish' comment, I agree, may he should reconsider that; but, the other poster should reconsider the name calling also. Once again, Lamont has the final say with that kind of stuff.

Hey, I was only trying to make a point that the guy was saying you shouldnt do this and you shouldnt do that. I just brought up graphic as an example that he should not throw stones. As far as name calling and you refering as the "other poster" he started with the name calling of 'prudush' but you were more concerned about the Neanderthal comment, I find that a little funny.

I have removed the picture to keep everyone happy, happy, happy.
The Pic has only been in my signature line for almost two years. There was no complaint. I cannot remove it if people do not say something to me.
Anyway .....done

That move says much more about who you are than the picture ever could have. nojoke

The picture bothered me for 2 years but I can see your point. I never complained about it (still have not made any 'Official' complaint) so maybe I was part of the problem. I greatly appreciate your removing it. I know it wasn't an easy thing to do and, for what little it is worth, you have my respect for doing so.

Thank You Very Much!

:agree:

I pulled my post since there is no longer any need for my comments on the subject. Today is a good day! :ohyea:

Swimming upstream here.
That style of art dates back to at least WWII.
Pin Up girl art is a genre that is gaining respect in both collector art and serious art
I think it fits into the culture.
But as I said, I seem to swimming upstream here.
JMHO and I respect all viewpoints.

Is the blonde with the boots Betty Grable? She was said to have (and I agree) the best looking pair of legs of any woman in the U. S. of A. at the time.

Chris

Lads, first, the gal with the boots is a redhead or I am quite color blind. Second, the drawings are neither Betty Grable nor Rita Hayworth. The genre is controversial, although it is gaining in popularity in some circles, and is far more tame than many ads on TV. It is also far from the subject of this thread. Maybe it's time we get back on track.

But it sure was a pleasant thing to discuss for just a little while.
Back to the task at hand;
Has anybody heard back from Rab about his most recent discussions yet?

Rab... I brought up my concerns on my new purchase and found some interesting details...

Firstly the dealer tech said they are not paid anything as part of the setup to do an alignment at any costs, units are shipped complete from factory with just the wheels off.
I asked if they could check the alignment anyway and I would pay, and mentioned as others have expressed being told special tools were needed for checking the 2013 models
My tech said he hadn't heard anything about new tools and called BRP while I stood there and was told nothing new was needed just the standard way of removing tires and attaching measuring stick to struts and wheels and measuring distances across.
I asked him if any other way of checking this and he said it could be sent out for an electronic alignment at a cost of $250 BUT he said for me to wait to see if there was ant issue with this one, none of the other 2013 had any problems.
As I will be driving the Spyder for the first time with no bike experience including a test drive obviously I was hesitant to not have the thing checked out completely BUT I have the confidence that my dealer is making sure not releasing anything dangerous... I have bought 2 seadoos and 3 snowmobiles off him in the last year so I am lucky I trust them. Also from a few other posts I have done and the responses I've received about this issue I am way more relaxed about the whole ordeal.

The best thing I did while waiting for the ball joints and yes the snow to stop was purchase an alarm system that tracks the Spyder and now can track them move it in and out of the shop everyday while I add all sorts of add-ons, awaiting the day I get my first ride which could be Friday unless it keeps snowing this week AGAIN, it's been a month too

Are you positive that BRP is even aware of your problems and not being told they are from the dealer?

Keep on them till it's right for you...

It's ALL about the dealership. Case in point, our local dealer, Daytona Fun Machines, has been nothing but stellar over the last 4 years servicing the wife's GS even though we didn't buy it there.

She just bought an ST-S that we are picking up tomorrow. I called the service manager to see if they checked the alignment as well as the ball joints and was told, and I quote, "Of course we changed the ball joints, there's a nationwide recall and since we know there have been some issues with tracking on the 2013's we also checked the alignment while we had it on the lift, using the new parts and procedure".

They did everything without being asked or prompted. I have no idea whether they will file a claim with BRP, I don't care. All I care about is how we and the Spyder are treated and we're just blessed to have one of the best dealers in the country 5 miles up the road.

For the Canadian dealer to respond the way he did is unacceptable. I would never grace their dealership again.

I have talked to dealer. They are sending the steering u-joint via Saturday delivery. The tech is going to have the bike torn down and awaiting the part. As soon as the get it installed and tested I will pick it up. I also spoke to natasha at brp today. I told her that I would be happy with a warranty extension for the bike as compensation for my downtime. She said that sounded agreeable. I will let everyone know tomorrow night how these events actually work out.
