• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

It'll take the aftermarket a little while to catch up to the new design.
But PitBull, or Trooper should be able to give you a lot more info on this; they're 2 guys who know this stuff!

I fully believe this is the answer.. I already called ELKA and they advised me they have had no access to a 2013 RT and havent created any shocks for that model yet. I then called Progressive and they advised me the same thing. I wouldnt hesitate for a second to purchase WITH MY MONEY a set of good shocks. I shouldnt have to , BUT I WOULD. AND if anyone here can point me to someone that has good adjustable shocks for a 2013 RT please message me. Post it here. Give me the part number!!!!!!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the rear shocks on the 2013 RT-S "Limited" the same as the 2012? What I mean by this is that they are adjustable?
The rear shocks mind you.

Chris

I was not aware there weren’t replacements available for the '13. Hope someone chimes in. Glad to hear you're willing to do it though

Hope it all works out for you. Really!

And also I am not sure that 320 is that big. I ride a Ducati Diavel and have no problems with it. I also ride a VTX1800R and a Triumph Rocket 3. None of which I have ever had a problem with weight. WAIT! all those bike had adjustable shocks.......

Im sorry I couldn't resist . I really am a nice guy. I love to ride. I love bikes. I just hate not having any luck getting this one fixed.

Nice, well intentioned guys seem to be the ones who expect others to be the same way. We both know that it doesn't always work out that way. Hope to meet you one day.

Sounds like you have a pretty full stable of bikes!

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening to all :spyder2:members. Obviously not a happy junior member.

I understand how you feel, I had this situation before(not BRP) I was furious like you, I felt I was ignored

and singled out. I only realized how stupid I was when I worked in costumer service because I saw my self

on them few years back. I hope you'll get your situation taken care of. Words of Wisdom . In every action there will be equal or greater reaction.:yikes: Lets all have a fruity smoothie.God Bless you all.

As of early next week, we ( Elka) will have a 2013 Spyder in the shop for R&D and will have a solution available shortly. I will keep you all posted with new developments, including photo's of the R&D process for those who may be interested in seeing how we go about it.

Unfortunately our direct contact with BRP, who used to help us get vehicles in here for development, is no longer with them so we have to wait for the local dealers to have them in stock. Only then can we beg them to get our hands on one for R&D. :(

This took longer than we wanted to but we will get it done in time for Spyderfest....and maybe earlier.

Thank you all for your patience.

dealer

same all same all

first of all - i feel for you and completely understand, been there myself
second of all - we learned over the years that to pick right Dealership where you buy your Spyder from does it all, not really BRP in fact. And bad dealerships have no other choice but blame BRP. If there is an issue from factory point of view, BRP doesn't try to hide it but fix it, learn and move on.
I know, none of this solve your problem but it cuts the mustard who you buy from, who does actual assembly and understand these unique machines. These Dealerships won't give you a best price cause they invested a lot into education and skill set of their mechanics but they give you the best bike and best treatment and that's to me The Best Deal! Maybe if you turn your anger and frustration onto Dealership rather than BRP, it might speeds up a process but if iam in your shoes i would just cancel contract, get my money back and get a bike from Reputable Dealer. Let's face it - if Dealership is the problem or part of it, you'll be silly thinking that they'll be a part of solution, right? You end up going back and forward between House and Showroom and at the end, bike will be so long in your posesion there will be no way out. Cut the throat now and you much better off that way.
that just my experience

btw - love the Diavel

good luck with your case

First of all: Let me say I can understand your frustration with the whole issue. You spend big money, and expect to drive away a machine that works like its supposed to and does not have problems from the start.

Here I digress to my usual statement that with :spyder2:,s, set up is one of the most important things to worry about.

I went back and read all your previous posts to refresh my mind about the information that you have given us. The photos of your :ani29: with that poor wheel alignment are very telling to me. How the dealer could have released the :spyder2: in that condition, is way beyond me.

To me: IMHO--it appears you have a dealer set up problem to start with. Others have mentioned this and I believe the dealer has been flamed for this by other posters also.

My recommendation is to also take the :ani29: to a different dealer and let them work on, and fix, your :spyder2: to brand new condition--without any problems. It is possible that you may have received a "lemon"--it does happen--but if that is the case--a replacement at this point might be worth consideration.

Others have also posted about using the L "legal" things. When that happens it does cause things to come to a crashing halt, because everyone is then going to CYA and basically not say or do anything. The words against BRP about a willingness to pay for advertising against them are probably not going to help either. At the moment, they are your last resort, and burning that bridge is probably not good.

I surely want to see you get your issues solved but suggest the "speak softly" rather than the "big stick" approach. I recommend paying what it costs to get the bike out of the current dealer and transferred elsewhere to get it fixed. Perhaps others on site will make some suggestions as to where is best. Once the problem is solved, working with the dealer or BRP may get you some relief for any extra costs you had to bear to get a good :spyder2:

Also, keep in mind, some dealers will tell you BRP said one thing, when in reality, they did not. Are you currently working with a BRP customer service rep on this, or trying to do it on your own? Others may PM you a good person to deal with.

Will keep watching and hope you can get the issues solved to your satisfaction.

Thanks for becoming a big help to the 2013's. I just told my friend to buy a 2012 because I just didn't want the chance of all of this stuff I'm hearing.

I have you and the entire Spyder community to thank for all of the support and feedback (good and bad) that helps us help you enjoy your Spyders just that much more.

Just as we were able to improve the 2011-2012 Spyder RT's, there is no reason as to why we cannot do the same with the 2013 Spyders. Personally I think that if he really wants a 2013, he should just buy it.

This website is full of incredibly knowledgeable people that can help guide him with any questions he may have, which is not always the case with your local Can Am dealer. Spyderlovers is the place to be when you need a solution.

Just got off the phone with dealer. They had someone ride it that weighed around "normal" weight. He said it was still twitchy and darting. NOW HERE IS WHY I AM NOT HAPPY!!!!!! They told me that they spoke to BRP right after the test ride and he was told that BRP R&D was going to setup a spyder for MY weight TOMORROW and set the tow and alignment.

WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT IF THE BIKE SUCKS WITH A NORMAL SIZED RIDER ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no need to do this. It is just a way to waste another day! The dealer tech told them it was bad with him on it.

This is why I have all but given up.
