• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Cop Rear Ends Motorcycle + 2013 Kawasaki ZX-6R Stuntbike

unbelievable , but i saw it.... the cop was looking for some smart mouth.. the biker did good to diffuse it... and why did the cop change lanes if not to follow the guy and hope he made a mistake?

That officer was being a real d*&k. Usually they think the guy on the bike will be riding like a maniac and here was a guy playing it safe and he gets grief for it. Figures.....

That's just not right- Teddy carries a BIG stick for situations like this

I'd like to see the cops video compared to the bikers  that cop was so wrong in so many ways :lecturef_smilie:

Sorry but I would have taken the ticket, no excuse for driving too close, should not drive close enough that you can not brake. That cop scared the rider so he wouldn't get in trouble. I would have been very polite but ask to dismount and check for damage.

:gaah:

The Officer screwed up, and then used his postion to intimidate the rider... :lecturef_smilie:
He needs a bit of a timeout to think about it a bit...
I would have checked for damage also; with the Officer present!

what an as$$hole . I normally wouldnt argue with an officer i try to respect the police . but in this case i think its warranted the officer asked if he has it being recorded .. yes officer and if you want to ticket me the video will show you that your an out of line and need to be disciplined.

was that officer suspened ? and i love how the cop said he couldnt stop that fast ... really thats following to closely for conditions and you need to learn to drive again . just cause you have a badge doesnt mean your above the law

Biker should have held his ground and asked for a supervisor to attend. That would be policy for when you strike a civilian vehicle with your patrol car. Cop :cus:ed up, and should have been man enough to own up and shouldn't have broken policy. Of course that is me talking from the Canadian experience. Cops in certain states in the US give me a bad sense. That said. I rather have a cop behind me than a cotton ball in a minivan. Cheers.

I have great respect for the Law Enforcement folks; they truly do a thankless job and often put themselves in harm's way on our behalf.
And then this sort of Public Relations nightmare shows up... :gaah:

Not much I can add. IMO: most cases when a rear ender happens its the fault of the person running into the vehicle in front.

the cop was wrong all the way. you are supposed to have control of your vehicle at all times and there was no excuse for that. I think I might have said write the ticket and i'll see you in court next week, and don't forget to bring your video. you might need it! at least that way he might get covered for any damage that might have occurred.

In Alabama, law enforcement and fire departments are immune from liability in vehicle accidents. I know someone whose car was smashed while parked in a parking space at a mall by an off-duty officer in a patrol car. Guess what, the smashed car was the responsibility of the owner due to AL law.

I understand the reasoning behind the law, it just doesn't seem fair if the officer is a bonehead.
