Hubby (Tobor 9) and I are staying at the Travelowes Tues thru Sun. See no reason to stay there til Sat morn and get a new room in Tenn. Easier for us to just ryde to The :bbq:on Sat and ryde back Sat evening. We will be leaving Sun morn sometime. just 1 time packing and unpacking is enough for us!!!

I just reserved a room at the Quality Inn for Saturday night. The said they would be working up a special rate for "Spyder People". Seems like Lamont has some pull with someone. Maybe we can get a group riding over from Maggie Valley on Saturday morning. Looking forward to a great time. Thanks Lamont!:thumbup:

Also reserved room at Quality Inn, rate $69.99. Will be leaving MV Saturday morning.

Whoo Whoo.............it's BBQ time. Made reservations for Saturday night at the Qualtity Inn. Time for another party.:yes:

Camping?

What's available for camping nearby? We will be pulling a 35' toy hauler. We are 'self contained' and could park almost anywhere. Should we just stay at Maggie Valley and drive over and back or move over there Saturday morning? We will be heading northwest on Sunday up into Wise County VA.

Hey Harry,
My wife and I have just registered and are planning on coming back Sunday too. My question for you is; what route are you taking to get down there? We will be getting on I-81 in Binghamton and taking it all the way into Tennessee. If you planned on coming across MA and NY on 90, we could meet up and cruise together. If you plan on cutting down through CT maybe we could meet up in PA? I know I am babbling, but It doesn't look like I am gonna get to Spyderfest and it looks like this will be my first "big trip". Would be real nice to cruise with some other ryders.

We could get all of us staying Friday night in MV together Saturday morning and ride to TN. What say y'all?

 Got reservations at the Quality Inn. Going over on Fri eve Stayed there last year when it was the Jamison. Very nice. Restaurant in front of hotel, FATZ, very good food. Excellent fried green tomatos.

Camping

There are two very nice camping / RV parks at exit 36 (Baileyton Road) off interstate 81. This is 30 min. from Greeneville.

I wish BRP would plan these out a lot earlier. Have things already planed out from 6/2/13-6/16/13/. They should be releasing next years event now. Been wanting to get back since Lamont's second BBQ.:banghead:

I agree, some of us have to arrange work schedules in advance and this is short notice. Won't be a problem after I retire, I will only be 104 by then.

Haven't really thought about it yet, but I'm easy on the route, quickest way for me according to google maps is i95 through New York and then I have the option of three routes.

Don't mind riding down with others and picking the best route that suits most. My initial plan is to leave Wednesday 12th and Ride back Sunday. I have the whole week off and not back at work until the following Tuesday so can alter departure and return dates to suit. I've never had the chance to ride the Blue Ridge parkway and its on my bucket list of rides. Not sure if this is the right time to do this or not and not sure how much time that would add as there is a speed limit. So could skip Blue Ridge Parkway, or could leave Sunday/Monday/Tuesday and include or ride it on the way back. Really open to suggestions and if we get a group together what the masses want to do is fine by me.

BTW, I'm also comfortable riding the whole 950 miles or so in one day or leaving on the Tuesday and spreading it across two days, again very easy going after all the journey can always be as fun as the destination. No pressure if you have not ridden long distance before, we can just ride until we've had enough and then just find a hotel/motel on route.

My wife is recovering from double hip replacement so we really have no idea if she will be up for the journey or I maybe riding solo, too early to tell either way.

I just know we're going to have some fun and some good riding.

Sounds like a great idea. I will be staying at the Travelowes motel. This is my first Spyder event and I can't wait to meet some of the characters that post on this web site!! I know it is going to be a blast!

Looking forward to meeting everyone too, you can't miss me, as always on bike rally's, I'll stand out I'll be the one on the spyder

The Fun way

It's about 70 miles the short way and 80 miles the fun way. quote from Lamonster.

I like the fun way the best, to clog up a route with a ton of Spyders migrating to another location will be a grand parade and a sight to see
:2excited:

Got the pit crew lined up and ready to help in any way possible. Let us know what help you need and we are bringing stuff to give away:thumbup:

Leaving Tuesday aternoon sounds like a good plan. Ryde down into Virginia, jump on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and find a hotel shortly after dinner? Finish the trip out on Wednesday? On the way back we could take 81 up and make time. I would most likely have to be back on Sunday night. The BRP (as in blue ridge parkway: Coincidence?) is on my list as well.

What event are we talking about?

None of these posts give me a clue as to what event we are talking about. I don't know if it is the owners event or Lamont's BBQ. Help Please.
