• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hotel reservation?

The hotel reservation link isn't working. It says that it is an invalid reservation. Any recommendations for a motels close to the fairgrounds?

When making lodging reservations remember that Newfound Gap Road (US-441) is closed to through traffic between Gatlinburg, TN and Cherokee, NC due to a landslide at Mile Marker 22 on the North Carolina side of the park. They do not know when it will be repaired. You can access the Smoky Mountain Park site for updates "http://www.nps.gov/grsm/index.htm". The wife and I are registered and can't wait to attend.

We will be at the Travelowes Motel... only had a few rooms left this morning and the rate is half of the name brand motels.

They are trying to get the road fixed by the end of May as to limit the loss of gambling revenue on the Cherokee Reservation.

Very long trip for me but the timing is perfect. I just booked at the a holiday inn. Only a few rooms left. No single beds left.

Still need to get the vacation time approved. But I don't see any issues getting it.

Looks like I'll be putting on about 4200+ miles round trip and crossing at least 11 states on the journey over the course of about 10 days.
