Vented Windshield and Adj Side Wind Deflectors

I have not seen any reports on the new BRP adjustable vented windshield or the adjustable side wind deflectors in the 2013 accessories catalog. Has anyone actually installed these? My stocker is 27" at the center and the taller vented screen is listed at 25" which would almost be perfect for me @ 5'-7" tall. I also have BB airwings that help bring in air but the adj side deflectors look like they would be even more beneficial. Both are rather expensive at $370 & 150 respectively.
Thanks

I installed both this week, the adustable wind deflectors really do help, no need for Baker Wings. They are frosted plastic instead of clear which I like, the clear became scratched easily and where hard to clean on the inside. They have three settings, closed, passenger and driver.

The windshield is actually a bit narrower than the stock 2011 that I had but I have not had a chance to try it out yet. The vent is large and should allow a lot of air through when open. It has mutiple steps so you can control how much you want. When open this will reduce a lot of wind resistance I would think. Astectically it is a great looking unit and looks as as if it belongs as I am sure BRP was aiming for in the design.

Both are just the same as far as bolting up goes and they send new screws with each.

Regards,

Randy

I used the new BRP windshield with vents and it was ok, but I miss the size of the 2010 windshield.

I have installed the new adjustable wind deflectors on my 2010 RTS. they do work well getting air to the rider. I recommend them. As far as the windshield goes, I took a jig saw to mine and removed about 4 inches from the top. it came out great! I am 5'7" and could not see over the top with it in the lowest position. Now I can see over it and there is still good height to it in the higher setting. It allows much more air at the lowest position on the hot days. Of course everyone is built a little different but this has worked well for me, didn't cost anything to modify the windshield but a little time cutting and sanding. It came out like a factory finish, i used 80 grit, 200 grit and 1000 grit to finish it off. This saved about 250.00 from having to buy a smaller factory shield. As everyone knows, BRP did start making smaller shields after 2010. You can see pics in my profile where the photos are.

I got one good ride in before I went in for back surgery last week and I have to say that both worked well. I only had the vent open for a short bit between rain showers but at highway speed it acutally cut buffetting and lowed road noise slighly. The side vents really work well at highway speed, I had to close them as it put so much air on my legs I felt it right through my insulated riding pants. The temps was around 39 that day but I wanted to test them.. aha.. they worked, lol

I was at the Novi show yesterday and got to sit on an RT Ltd with the vented shield. I do not know if it was in the up or down position or which (25" or 23") one it was but definitely lower and could see over it easily. But what I liked even more were the floorboards. Made for a much more comfortable riding position. The adjustable bars were also very nice but big $$$$.

I did the same thing. I Trimmed 5 Inches off the 25" 2012 RT windshield to use for summer- Down low I see over it Great and up High
the top is parallel with the very top of my helmet , I have the Large 23" Calsci which I love for the cold weather BUT this cut down Stock one will be great for the warmer weather and have a lot less wind resistance!!

less wind resistance is a big plus. the 2010 RT windshield was just too big, tall and wide. I think that is the reason the 11's and 12's were a little smaller. shorter and more narrow to I think.
