Fuel and Belt Question

#1- Has anyone been able to determine how much useable fuel we can count on in the RT? I know the manual says 6 1/2 gal. but the design doesn't allow that.

#2- Can you mount the "missing belt guard" and the "smooth spyder tensioner" together? Am considering both but not sure if both can be mounted. :dontknow:

Any feedback appreciated.

You have 6.0 gallons of usable fuel capacity. That would be filling the tank slowly until gas starts to spit out the vent slots. Your low fuel light should come on at around 1.5 gallons remaining.

Figure 5.5 to 5.8 to be safe.

Set ur trip meter each time and when it gets to 150 be looking for gas sta.

In cooler weather I put 6.3 gal. of gas in my RT. that is filling up to the bottom of the neck. I didn't even have to walk. ----Budro

Thanks for the response. I always reset the tripometer when I fuel. My fuel light comes on close to 130 miles or a little more depending how I'm driving it, around town it's less.
The most I've put in the tank was 5.8 gal. guess I was cutting it close. :yikes:

Both items can be fitted. I have both on my RT and I wouldn't be without either.

Since the RTs have the aerodynamics of a barn door (Kind of!); I'd keep it at not more than 70mph... Mine settles in ar around 38mpg at 65. :thumbup:

4000 rpm (keeping the clutches fully locked-up occurs at about 55mph...)

The fuel light on my '12 comes on much sooner than the one on BB's '10. I've gone 45 miles on mine with the fuel light on and still only put in 4.8 at the most. But as Bob said, this thing is a barn door. There's so many variables that it's hard to say what you should/should not get on milage. I don't use the trip meter unless I'm on a long run (such as to Lamonts). I just go by the gauge.

Pretty hard to get an exact answer on this one because most drive their :spyder2:,s slightly different. Terrain, weather, wind direction and a bunch of other factors are involved in the big picture.

I consistantly get about 31 mpg but it sometimes varies up and down depending........

My fuel light goes on at about 150 miles and I usually fuel up pretty close to that point. I have the digital gauges hooked up. When I was using the analog gauges, the light came on at about 130 miles or so. I don't have a reason for the difference.

On road trips or joy rides, I always fuel at the start of the trip and every hundred miles or so--just so I can get off the :ani29: and stretch. If I know I am going approx 150 or less, I fuel up when I hit home. My closest gas is 5 miles.
