• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I've got one and they are really sweet. I don't carry it, but I put a light on it and keep it in my bedside safe, right beside the Kahr CW9 that I have there for my wife.

The only problem with wheelguns, is that the cylinder makes concealment a bit tougher...
But I've got two J-Frames that I wouldn't part with for anything!:2thumbs:

A 60 with a 3" Full shroud barrel, and a blued 36 flat-latch.

I generally carry a Taurus PT 1911, a Rock Island Armory 1911 Officers, or a Taurus PT145 Millenium, (all in .45ACP) depending on the occasion. :doorag:

I had a S&W J-frame Airweight made of titanium. It really tore up my hand from shooting very much. Even though it was a model in demand because they quit making them, I sold it. I may go to a different revolver, though. Need to carry a speed loader with it.

I have the Taurus 380 and found it is very finnicky in terms of ammo. For some reason it hates Remmington but loves Winchester.....

Best gun is one you WILL carry.....
 
I have a Keltek 9mm for carrying in the cage. It does have a heavy pull but I've done some spring work and added a pad to the trigger which makes it more tolerable. It's not a target pistol but it will serve it's intended purpose, not trying to hit a bullseye at 25 yards.
The wife carries a .38 S&W stainless 5 shot wheel gun but, as mentioned before, difficult to conceal.
I carry a Colt Mustang .380 when I'm on the byke. It's real comfortable to carry and is not noticeable when wearing a t shirt and jeans using a cell phone holster.

I have over 5000 rounds thru my Taurus 709 with zero issues. Kimbers are nice but overrated. I have 3 and they are just ok.
 
There's been a lot of guns mentioned in here; I'd like to mention a couple of things...
DON'T carry more gun than you are 100% comfortable with.
In that "Oh Crap!" moment, you'll be lucky to have enough time to pull, point and fire. You won't have time to stare down the sights at the baddies as you double-tap them through the heart.
It'll all be instinctive shooting; practice from various stances without using your sights.
ANY sidearm that isn't 100% reliable should be treated as garbage. You're betting your life on it working.... It it's acting up at the range, why is it with you now?
Very few of us in here are LEOs; we don't need to carry fight-stoppers. We only need enough gun to make the :cus: decide that we'll be more trouble than we're worth.
If you pull it; be 100% certain that you can use it! :thumbup:

Agreed 1,000% By the way, my wrist hurts this morning.
 
Go with a Glock. Easy to use. Smooth recoil. Extremely reliable. Not a bunch of springs and moving parts. It's a good fit as long as you are okay with a trigger safety being on the trigger, turned off by finger pressure on the trigger. In other words if you know how to pull a trigger, there is no safety but the person the gun is in the hands of. Some may not like that. There are other internal safeties, but non that stop someone with gun in hand from pulling the trigger. I should have mention the model 19 and 26 Gen 4 are great options. My second most favorite is a Sig Sauer. Lots of good options there for women.

Taurus PT-22,

I was seriously looking into the PT-22 for the size, and less expensive ammo. But I heard a lot of negative things about them (misfires and stuff) Have you experienced any of that? When it comes to carrying something, size does matter.:) As a result, I went for the Micro Desert Eagle .380 From Magnum Research. It is small, but when I'm at the range and after squeezing a bunch of rounds off, the recoil works on my hand. Interestingly, more so than my Taurus Judge,Public Defender, but that is too big to carry

I've learned that my PT-22 likes to be very clean, very well lubed, and not particularly reliable. LCR coming up.

I use 38 hollow points with shrapnel epoxied in the hollow point, you buy them commercially, if you are not a great shooter, you are still going to get a piece of them.

DO NOT EVER dry-fire it :shocked:
You'll be ordering a new firing pin in no time...

But it is a fun and compact little tooter... I made a "once in a lifetime" shot with it...
Bagged a Ruffed grouse with a shot to the head at 50 yards; with two witnesses present! :thumbup:
(... and I called the shot; aiming at the head for either a clean kill or a clean miss!)
 
I haven't had any problems with my PT22. But as with any weapon, it needs to be kept clean. Just for the h of it, I fired some bird shot rounds through it. Didn't hit a dang thing.
 
Of the guns you mentioned my choice would definitely be the Kahr. The Taurus is OK (I used to carry the Millenium Pro in 40 S&W) but there was a tiny bit of inconsistency in the trigger that drove me crazy. The Sig P-238 is also nice. The SO fell in love with it so I let her have it and started carrying the Kahr 9mm and it's my favorite cc weapon ever......and you can never go wrong with a Glock either.
Saw a shirt once that said:
Kimber - The gun you show your friends.
Glock- The gun you show your enemies.
 
Conceal one of these in your frunk. I can assure you that the single shot works extremely well, and it is hard to collect bits and pieces after the fact.
