• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

A little sad news

As most everybody knows I am a newbie and very excited about the coming season. I have been trying to get myself prepared to go to my first Spyderfest this year, which has been quite an adventure in itself. Two weeks have passed since the surgery on my throttle hand and things seem to be coming along alright. I have a bit of pain still, but I will be ready to ride come spring. I do have one problem: the job I thought I had lined up has since slipped away. I will still be able to find another job. I just doubt I will be able to get back to work as soon. This will mean that money will be a bit tighter than expected, and I will be limiting the number of "big" rides I take in the early part of the season:gaah:.
I am still looking forward to meeting as many fellow spyderlovers as possible, so I am praying and doing job searches.

You'll make it...

Good luck on the job search we are sure things will work out. To strengthen that throttle hand do the old mx exersize with the weight at the end of a string tied to a broom handle. Twist till the weight is all the way up then twist it back down. All the best..::thumbup:

Otter,

Posts on this board tell an awful lot about the posters, IMO. Your posts tell me you are articulate, talented, and compassionate. All are attributes sought by wise employers. Hang in there and soon a smart employer will grab you.

Keep working on getting 100% so you'll be ready to ryde when the weather cooperates. Sorry you'll have to miss Spyderfest this year but there is always next year when it will even be bigger and better. Take care....

Certainly did not mean to write off Otter attending Spyderfest. I hope he finds meaningful employment soon and he can make it to Spyderfest. Like you, I'm also pulling for him!

Thoughts and :pray: go with you. Please keep us posted on what happens. Also hope that you will be able to attend Spyderfest as planned. Hang in there.

I was a finish carpenter, that will be on hold for about 6 months though. Looking at going into maintenance and have applied to a management position at a local business that is looking for someone with my qualifications. We will see how it goes.

Thanks everybody for the thoughts and prayers!!!!

I am really looking forward to ryding with you guys. I actually daydream about how great the road would feel on my spyder when I am driving down the road this time of year. Brings a smile to my face, and not just the good ice cream at Gilligan's!!!

 Did somebody mention Ice cream??
