• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Run, don't walk, to another dealer! All of that stuff is optional, and it all sounds over-priced. It is up to you whetehr or not to get this stuff. An extended warranty can be useful, and can ease your mind, but aftermarket warranties may not cover much sometimes, and the BRP warranty can be obtained almost anywhere for far less money. Some owners are mor comfortable with a maintenance contract, but be sure of what it covers and that it fits your needs if you go that route. As to the tires, never heard of such a rip-off on a Spyder. A reputable dealer will not try to fluff up the sale with a bunch of crap that does you little but does his wallet lots of good. He may offer some of these, but will not push them and will explain them up front. There are good dealers and salesmen out there...find one. JMHO

Hi there and good evening,
Warentees are a good piece of mind considering these three wheeled marvels have a lot of electronics and some bugs have showed up from time to time.
The Best warentee is i guess one of the prefered warentees with BRP and could be purchased through your Dealer or on our sponcer list here they are around $1000.00 .
This is a choise you should consider if you can afford it go for it if not it can be purchased any time within your 2 year manufacturers warentee. The dealer pushing a $4000.00 package i would check around and decide what you need when you want it and then purchase what package you feel comfortable with and then pull the triger.
Good luck and welcome send some picks and be ready to enjoy the ride.

I'll bet I bought mine from the same dealer. Yep, it was outrageous and I turned it all down and still rode out on the Spyder I wanted.

After making the deal on the Spyder, I was "turned over" to the high pressure, finance manager to sign the papers...even though I was writing a check for the balance. I knew something was up when I saw a tire and wheel staged in his office. The wheel was bent badly and the tire had a big rip and something sticking out of it. That was supposed to make me jump on the tire and wheel warranty, I guess? I thought back on all the miles I've riden without even one bad tire problem. If it does happen, it happens and I'll pay for it myself.

The extended warranty was overpriced (3X) relative to those available elsewhere, but if you didn't use it, you supposedly got half of it back. Somehow I'll bet a technicality would leave little to nothing to return after five years were up. Besides, I may own a new Spyder before this factory warranty expires.

Finally, the service plan allowed me to pre-pay for several servicings up front at a significant discount - yeah right! When you control the cost of something, you can discount and still be overpriced, which they were.

My advice is to only buy a warranty for something you can't otherwise afford to fix or replace.
