• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS and Derating

Has anyone with a DPS failure had BRP tell them about derating? My Spyder has been in the shop for a while. Spyder would fight me to turn and sent me left of center a few times. BRP told my local tech that when your DPS gets hot it will derate the amount of power steering available. My 2010 Spyder is almost two years old and has never done this before now. Local tech finally fought back and i am getting a new DPS unit under warranty. Has anyone else had any issue like this?
thanks Donnie

Yes.

I never heard that, Unless they mean at speeds the DPS will tighten up a little,
AKA = Variable power steering.
But what your describing [steering fighting you] is the reason BRP had to recall and replace all
DPS units a few years ago. And they would be foolish not to replace your DPS '
Can i say legal liability in case of an accident because of the DPS.?

:agree: I hadn't heard that term; but it sure sounds like the condition that BRP described when they announced the recall... :shocked:
