• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got the Corbin Seat Mounted!!!

Looks like the Corbin lets you set lower in the saddle than the factory seat. How much lower do you set front and rear?:dontknow:

It arrived at my office today and I mounted it as soon as I got off of work. Like all the other accessories...installation was a bit of a hassel.

Let me say 1st that the quality of the 2 piece seat is commendable...however, the fit at the leading edge is a bit too wide...the seat doesnt hug quite as close to the bodywork as I would have liked to have seen.

Second, big mistake on the part of Corbin. The seat will not fit if you have the sport rack installed. The hydraulic piston that holds the seat up hits the red knob you pull to open the sport rack...they cannot co-exist..I had to try trimming the red knob at first, hoping to get enough clearance but that was to no avail. I ended up not going with the piston at all.

Third, you have to adjust the pin that goes into the hole to lock the seat...I didnt notice it in the instructions because it wasnt mentioned! After much time spent trying to get it to close and latch I figured it out.

I'll post pictures tomorrow and a review of the comfort level as well. When I finished I had to literally run into the house...swarms of mosquitos were bombarding me.

Welcome to SpyderLovers gaby. welcome

Corbin is not the only choice for Spyder accessories. First, there are many generic motorcycle things that will fit the Spyder. Go to any bike shop or online retailer to see hundreds of common bike accessories that can also work on a Spyder.

Bill Mayer and Russell are two companies that will make upgraded seats (actually, they rebuild your current Spyder seat) for the Spyder. Industries7 is a company that makes a saddlebag and tail bag system that is less expensive than the Corbin set. Nelson-Rigg and Cortech are two companies (there are many others also) that make generic, soft sided saddlebags and tailbags that will work on a Spyder.

The home page of this site has links or contact info for NoMagicNeon, KewlMetal, Bushtec and BilletBikeParts that each make specific products for the Spyder. Bottom line is, there's a lot of stuff out there made specifically for the Spyder and a whole bunch of other stuff that can be adapted for the Spyder.
