• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Folks,

After long rides in Calif and Colo does anyone know where I can get a cruise control set up for my 2011 RS? I have the crampbuster paddle for my palm heel but that is not enough

Thanks much,

Lambo

If you want an inexpensive solution go to http://cruise-mate.com/ This device is the absolute best throttle lock around. I have had this on 4 HD's and now on my 2011 RSS. I couldn't take a trip without it.

The Throttlemeister throttle friction device works well, although it is not a true cruise control. Nancy has one on her GS and I have one on one on my BMW RT.

What........ Nobody liked my suggestion ?????? Tough crowd !!!! :roflblack:

yes, it is expensive...

it is rather pricey but if I had a lot of money to invest in my spyder at this point I would consider it. I mean ultimately I want the mods done on my spyder to look professional and like they are made for the spyder. I guess when all of the mods are done my RS will be called.....wait for it............wait for it......it will be called an ST.

Great Point

Bought the standard 2011 Spyder RS ( paid for in cash) then added;

Spyder Comfort setup
Hindle exhaust
Power commander
three inch risers
Corbin seat
Cobin saddle bags
highway pegs
25inch windshield

purchased mods for exhaust fan ( out the side vent), belt drive protection, poly shield under the front nose, heat deflector for exhaust, just ordered bajarob anti sway and now ordering MC Cruise control

So what do I need a ST ????

Kuryakyn

i bought the Kuryakyn Throtle Control ($75); which you must also buy the grips ($75).... JUNK the grips are great, very comfortable... but the throtle controlled is extremely difficult to use, almost requires both hands to lock it in place...
remember; none of these are true CRUISE CONTROL... while climbing grade, your speed reduces, and while desending grade, you'll gain speed....

I see this requires drill and tap. How difficult is the install?
not bad but more than I was willing to tackle I had a mechanic friend of mine install it. It came with the drill and tap needed. If your going to an even in the near future Kuryaken sells this throttle lock and they will install for free at the events.

I have the cruise mate on my 2011 RSS and absolutely love it! It was like $60 installed at Daytona Bike Week last year.
