top case rack

First I,m new here and just bought my first spyder it's a 09 gs. I saw a add for a Givi sr770 top case rack but soon found out it's no longer available, whats the next best way to attach a top box? Thanks, and this is a great site. bete

A number of owners have purchased the Spyder Sport Rack, and mounted the topcase to the flat cover. It isn't as secure as it could be, and the fasteners need to be reinforced, but it has worked for those that tried it.

Good luck finding those racks as a set.

I looked all over and finally found a PLX999 for my V35 sidecases but the matching top case rack is no longer in production. Luckily I scored a similar one off another member here on Spyderlovers; it's not an exact fit but with a little bending and welding I now have a sturdy topcase rack.

Industries7 (now defunct) used to make a match set out of Canada, but I had no luck contacting them.

Thank you, I did not mean to sound cross either. I did not read the ebay post and was not aware of what it said in the listing,I apoligize for that. I just knew it was for a top case rack.

I have an '08 GS & have recently fitted a Givi topbox (monolock).

Buy a Spyder sportrack
Buy a Givi SR19 (I happened to have one I took off the Silverwing I traded in for the Spyder) - your choice of monokey or monolock base. This is for a Honda Silverwing maxiscooter but the steel brackets fit onto the Spyder sportrack top plate just fine

You will then need to position & mark the holes the 2 steel brackets will need on the sportrack top plate & drill 4 holes. I found this the most tricky part of the whole fitting.

Bolt on the brackets, bolt on the topbox base plate & click the sportrack top plate into the Spyder sportrack.

I used 8mm stainless steel bolts & nuts.

THAT is for sure! The farkles don't come cheap! :yikes: I'd send hubby back to work to earn Spyder money, but his chemo schedule really doesn't leave much time for working. nojoke
