• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I have a STUPID QUESTION...
I posted a question about gas mileage on the RS and was told by some of the people responding
that I do not have an RS that I have a GS mine is a 2008 with the auto type trans it is silver & black
and my California Title reads: Motorcycle/vin XXXXXXXXXXXX3187/ 2008 CANAM SPYRER RS then the Lic. number
body type MC/ fuel G/ fees paid $674 year first sold 2009.
So since the state of California said it was an RS I just assumed that is what it was. I bought it used with 6,800K
about 2 mo ago, the prev. owner had it advertised as an RS. I took it to the local dealer and my work order
for having it serviced says the model is RS/SE5 ..... I took it back to them about 10 days ago to have a Heli Bar riser
installed and the work order says it is a GS/ SE5 ???????
Soooooom, what the hell do I have :hun:? I don't much care... what ever it is it's paid for and is lots of fun to ride:2thumbs: but I do know one thing that California is WRONG about... IT IS NOT A MOTORCYCLE
PS will some one please recommend floor boards, not looking for cheeeeep looking for the best
Thanks everyone
Dave

All 2008 and 2009 model SPYDERS were GS. Added to the GS was /SM5 (Manual transmission) or /SE5 (Electronic Shift transmission). In 2010 they changed the Sport Model to RS and added The RT model to the mix.
+1
If they didn't change the GS into RS, the touring model would be named GT...;)

Vertika offers really great looking floorboards but they are expensive :yikes: . John (Seal Floorboards, site sponsor) offers a couple of different versions of floorboards. Quite a few Spyderlovers swear by his boards. I installed Inspector Gadget floorboards which are relatively inexpensive but work well for me. The 2013 :spyder2: lineup includes OEM floorboards which I understand will fit certain per-2013 models. So, there are a wide variety of boards out there from about $100 to well over $1000...decisions, decisions!

I don't know if you have a GS or an RS but I recommend Seal Floorboards. They are great and he is a site sponsor.

You have a GS, If you have the manual that came with the Spyder [roadster] it will say so right on the Cover.
And that knowledge and 20 cents will get you a ride on the NYC Subways.:roflblack:

What they raised the fare.:yikes: That's what it cost when i lived in Brooklyn and had to go to work in Manhattan every day, Once i moved to Jersey so i didn't have to sit next to the Great Unwashed i drove in by car to Manhattan, And on Wednesdays i took the bike in to Manhattan.

Is the toll at the Lincoln tunnel still 2.50.

We need a person from NYC to jump in with the latest toll fees... :dontknow:
"Great unwashed" :roflblack: I sense the start of a border war brewing!

GS = Gran Sport, Euro speak for Big Sport, like Gran prix = Big Prize

RS = Roadster Sport, to differentiate from Roaster Touring (RT)

now we have ST = Sport Touring

RS-S = Roadster Sport Sportier?

It does not say that.

The cover of the operators guide does not say GS.

Sorry my mistake the 2008 does and the 2009 does not.
