• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We are getting ready to buy a Spyder RT and have 2 small dogs. Has anyone ever traveled with small dogs in a front pack ( kind of like a backpack but in front ) They are made especially for small dogs.

you bet!

Yes, that's how we travel with our 7 pound Yorkie, Bad Leroy Brown.

He is wears doggles and a harness which is connected to a leash that is wrapped around my waist.
He can't go any farther than my lap.

I'll be happy to help ya out any way I can.

It's so much fun having the furbabies along for the ride. :ohyea:

We are also exploring options to traveling with our dog, a Shih Tzu weighing approximately 11-12 pounds. I think the front pack might work well with only a 7 pound dog.

Tink travels with us in an Outward Hound front Pack...

A Decent Ride 004.jpg She's a 4 pound Pomeranian loaded with about 20 pounds of excessive personality!

Teddy & I would like to say Congrats on the New Ryde & Welcome to the SpyderHood

:congrats: & :welcome:

We have a buddy that rydes a Harley & was taken with Teddy & wanted to know how he could ryde with his 2 pound Yorkie & I suggested the front pouch carrier & Doggles to them. They showed up the next week at Bike Night and it worked out perfectly:thumbup:

There's many ways to go about traveling with your fur-kids, especially with the added stability of the Spyders layout. Just remember to keep their eyes protected (Doggles) and to provide shade from direct sunlight (especially important in the summer) and always keep them hydrated (LixIt) by having water available. And even with them being in a pouch, they still need a safety harness (Easy Rider) and tether.

We have many SpyderLovers on this site that travel
long distances with their fur-kids and we wouldn't
:yes:have it any other way:yes:

I have my RT-S in the shop for some service and will be picking it up thursday - I spoke to my dealer about getting a pet carrier similar to the one in http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...ewel-Pet-Carrier-for-the-RT&highlight=carrier and he said he knows someone that can fabricate one, so... I am going to meet with him and see how much he will charge for making it and will keep you posted

We're anxiously waiting to find out about this! Be aware that some care has to be taken that your pet can't get themselves lodged in between the bars anyplace.

absolutely and understood

hopefully the fabricator can do this and if it works, I will ask them to make a few if people are interested in them

I was trying to make a version using all the pvc piping I have sitting around from my pool system but gave up cause I couldnt find the proper angled end/corner peices

We also used both the puppy sling as well as the "Outbound Hound" carrier and they worked well for a while, however as Gabriella, (Gabby) grew, (now a 9 lb Havanese) we realized it still wasn't the best solution for our ultimate enjoyment......Sooooo I made my hubby put on his thinking cap and he came up with this STUPENDOUS idea for all three of us and Gabby is now a free spirit, Spyder rider. Her carrier takes only 5 seconds to put on or take off and leaves plenty of stretching room for us all.
Bill and I are both what you all call "lurkers" because we are not very computer savvy enough to know how to go about posting pictures. It should be easy with an iPhone, as it is with facebook, but I haven't tried it yet. I do have plenty of pics to show you however, if I can get it figured out.

Our 74 lb golden wanted to ride along, but I couldn't come up with a solution, so she drives and carries me in a backpac.
