• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. 9/14/12 Update

Thanks Everyone Again -- it helps us immensely! Posting the link again so people dont have to go searching backwards if they want to help by signing up. We have earned 120.00 worth of free food thanks to local friends, the girls on spyders facebook group, and now our great Spyderlover friends !

Maddie got sick twice yesterday..poor girl :( She refused to eat last night and this AM so we have a call into the vet as her poop has returned to mush as well.

Jake and I feel absolutely defeated. :banghead:

We are trying our hardest. He is going to stop on the way home and we will try another variety of raw food to see if maybe Bison, or Vension, or Rabbit sounds a little better then Turkey.

I'm hoping this is just a small little flare up and she'll feel better tonight or in the AM .....

This is really one of the worst things we've gone through with a pet... it's breaking my heart.

My daughter and son in-law actually feed there dogs raw food chicken etc. from the grocery store. there oldest dog was having bald places on his coat and they couldn't get it to heal, once they started the raw diet it cleared up and he acts like he feels a lot better. good luck with maddie and I hope she gets better.

I had a dog that also had health issues on regular food and I fed a raw diet of food from the grocery store. You can talk to the butcher's dept at the store and order things like chicken necks and chicken backs and get it for a decent price since most people don't want to eat those things. I bought in bulk and just kept it in the freezer. As long as you don't cook it, the raw bones are perfectly safe for dogs. You also need to add some veggies and vitamins into the mix. The internet is a great place for amounts and recipes if you need a recipe.

We are using a pre-made raw by natures variety to start at least. It ensures she is getting all the vitamins, etc.. she needs. Feeding straight from the grocery store wont ensure she is getting all of what she needs as we'd need to add bone meal, vitamins, etc....

I signed up, but how does this help Maddie now? I didn't see anything about me being your referral so you can receive the benefit. It doesn't take much to confuse me, so if you or someone could explain, I would appreciate it. :banghead::banghead:

If you used kawakii's link, there was a 'code' already at the bottom of the form, which made it unique.

UPDATE

Maddie has started to eat a little again. She has managed to get most of her dinner down tonight. We talk to the vet again on Tuesday AM again in hopes that they have the number for a hollistic vet they work in the area who specializes in food and picky eaters. I believe she may have been having a slight flare up and that we are finally at the point where its settling down.

I'd like to get the prednisone reduced further and if a different diet can help us do that I'm all on board. We are in for a long road getting this adjusted but she's worth it :)

Just an FYI, Teddy is on a Special diet as well, has to actually have a prespcription card for it and they won't sell it to me without his prescription card being present. Its a HypoAlergenic Diet Dog Food, and I'm not trying to compare dogs at all, as Teddy just has food alergies, but I thought I'd share this, as the food he eats is Duck & Potatoe only & it actually works to keep his food alergies at bay. We get it thru his vet which is BanField inside our local PetsMart, which sells the food, but with Prescrition only. Not cheap, the small bag pictured is between $40 & $50, but it works for him and he's worth it. Just thought I'd share, and I hope Maddie continues to improve:pray:IMG_20120916_225133.jpgIMG_20120916_225200.jpgIMG_20120916_225220.jpg;)

UPDATE 9/21 -- MAddie at ER VET

Maddie was rushed to the ER on Wednesday night for bloody diarrhea and for a very serious IBD flare up. We didnt know if she will make it - as of this morning she is alert, and bright-- she still has diarrhea but it no longer is pure blood. We are hopeful that she will continue to improve. We are fiancially struggling wit her medical bills and my own medical bills from the pressure sore I am struggling to heal...but want to do all we can to get her home. Thanksfully we have had lots of mental support and now thanks to friends a paypal account using my e-mail address has been opened for donations -- as of today we have spent 9,800.00 so anything that is donated is a great help. We love Maddie dearly and are following the vet who believes we can get her IBD under control and have her home with us... please spread the word.

If you'd like to donate the paypal account is : [email protected]
