Can someone tell me the Length and width of the RT622 Trailer? I am going to buy one and don't know if it will fit into the back of a Chevy crew cab short bed.

I brought mine home in the back of a Dodge Ram short box with the tail gate down. Pretty easy lift for two people to get it into and out off the truck. It was more akward then heavy. I think it weighs just a hair under 150 lbs .

Why would you buy a rt622 trailer to carry around in the back of your pickup truck? ( must be a redneck thing ).

Sorry, could not help myself

Well I pick up my new Lava trailer on the 21st in Greenville Texas. Can't say I don't have some redneck in my blood, but I'm delivering some stuff to my son in Irving and it's too big for the RT to haul. I don't want to have to buy the conversion cable to plug into my truck. Pretty simple, haul it in the bed of the truck?

Actually, it weighs in at a hefty 250 lbs empty. It's easily the heaviest cargo trailer intended for motorcycling I've owned. It weighs a full 100 lbs more than my Bushtec did.

It's pretty easy to haul a motorcycle trailer in the bed of a truck. I brought home my flatbed motorcycle trailer that I haul behind my Spyder that way. I see no reason why the RT-622 wouldn't work that way in a full-sized pickup. You will have to leave the tailgate open or put the tongue up on the top of the tailgate (with protection. That may not be a good solution, since the RT-622 bottoms out in the rear if you raise the tongue very far. A couple of ramps make it real easy to load. (There is no good place to lift on the slippery RT-622.) We used ATV ramps to load and planks to unload. You may also have to get a little creative in tying it down...I'd use the tongue to hold it in place, probably with tie-downs run to the very front bed tie loops. Take some old towels to protect the finish if necessary. Have at it, I'm sure you have struggled worse with other loads. Most folks that own a truck have. The RT-622 would be easier than a refrigerator or clothes dryer. :)

It takes 2.5 people to load it into the back of a pickup. I know. Did it a couple weeks ago. One person on each wheel and one-half person to control the tongue (keep it horizontal) as it will not be stable otherwise.

Thanks, I thought I wousd use tie down straps 2 from the back and 2 from the front thru the wheels then a large bungee from the hitch arround the tongue to hold it down. I don't think there will be any problems at all. My truck bed has built in tie points front and rear low in the bed.

I'm sure that this doesn't need to be said.... but be careful with that beautiful finish!
Please let us know how the deliivery turns out; Good Luck!
5.5' 0r 6.5' bed?

Have put mine on and off the bed using both 3 guys and on my own with ramps. If using ramps make sure they're long enough or use a curb to reduce the angle.

The rt-622 is so low to the ground that it's very easy to scape the bottom. I have a long bed 8' and it fits in great. I normally but a strap through each wheel ( strap not hook) and tire one to the rear and the other to the front. I placed a small box under the hitch to raise it a bit. Rock solid in the back of the truck.

Mine's been at the paint shop for three weeks now, their very busy but I'm hoping to get it back in the next few days. More importantly I have panels off the spyder beening painted so haven't ridden in three weeks.

It has a 6'-0" bed. I don't forsee any issues with hauling it this way. I got it from the same place I got my RT. Set up and delivery was great and I don't expect any problems at all. They are installing the Cargo Net System also NC.

:yikes: Three WEEKS??? :yikes:
Somebody get this man a set of keys to a functioning bike!! :2thumbs:

Its a long story, I dropped the Trailer and panels off at the paint shop just before I headed out to Germany, I knew is top painter was out that week on vacation.

Then when I got back from Germany I was returning from the local post office, stopped on the main road waiting for the car in front to turn right into his driveway.

Then bam, a pickup reverse out of his driveway into our Prius, damaged the passenger door, fender and bumper.

The driver was apologetic and took ownership for the accident and his insurance as agreed to pay, no fuss no issues.

However our car is at the same body/paint shop now and that as taken priority over the trailer.

I was promised today that I can pick our car up Monday afternoon and the trailer Wednesday.

I'm in no rush for the trailer but I want my panels back so I can reassemble the spyder. I haven't ridden and it driven me nuts.

Oh well, it will be worth it in the long run.

Also, when lifting, don't lift with the body. Use the the wheels and frame and tongue. The body is not designed to be used to lift it.
