• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. QUESTION ABOUT SIGNAL LIGHT INDICATOR ???????

I AM THINKING ABOUT PUTTING LIGHTS FOR MY SIGNAL INDICATOR WHERE MY GAUGES WERE ON MY 2010 RT AC . HAS ANYONE DONE THIS AND IF SO WHERE DID YOU HOOK THE LIGHTS INTO ?
THANKS

I would'nt waste the round gauge mount spaces for indicator lights. There are numerous options for adding indicator LEDs and adding gauges, see below for mine, but there are several other very good ones.

If you could find the correct size LED arrow to mount out there it sure would look neat...
Roger's got the wiring all worked out for you!

Most auto parts stores and amazon sell led arrows that stick on the mirrors for around $10 this does two things. You can see very clearly if you have left your indicators on and be seen better from the rear.

I saw teddies at SITA and they looked really good for $10. Going to steel the idea and do the same.

You can also have moth mirrors, you send in your mirrors they send you back embedded lights in them. They look great but your above $200.

I keep looking at those arrows stuck on mirriors.. I haven't been able to resolve the whole "Loss of field of View" that haapens with them...
Muth offers up this option; it ain't cheap...Muth turnsignal Indicators.jpg

Maybe a strip of led's on the outside edge of the mirriors - They look almost arrow shape and would not affect the filed of vision
keeping the whole of the Mirror glass clear

I put these on, picked them up at auto parts store.

Just an FYI from experience........ we really don't notice a "Loss of View' at all

Having the $10 LED signal indicators on the mirror, we really don't notice a loss of view, as the view is still there, albeit with a little red arrow in the forground of the view, so no loss really at all. And for $10, hard to beat, plus you DO get added visibility from the rear as well. I also like the LED Strip idea as well. The largest caveat for me, is when cleaning the mirrors, since the LED Arrow ISN'T Embedded, it takes a little extra time and finese to clean around the LED Arrow, but again, for $10, well worth it in my opinion as well as Teddy's :agree:

I went for the LED arrows on mine mainly because the wiring was allready in the mirrors.

However what I used on most of my other bikes was a little piezo buzzer with two diodes from Radio Shack
mounted somewhere in the cluster that would beep when the turn signals were on.

With the use of the two diodes you only needed one buzzer for both sides.

Nice, Where did you get the tiny LEDs and how much did they cost?

So far as I'm aware the LED's are the regular size, if there is such a thing.:dontknow: They were too bright for night use so I had to solder a resistor to them to dim them down a tad. I also had to locate a supplier and buy a couple of waterproof housings to mount them in the dash. There was insufficient space in the mounting location I chose for them so I had to clear away some plastic with a wood chisel to free up space.(See inside blue circle). In the end this 15 minute job took about 3 days but it was early in the year and winter was still in full flow so I didn't mind.

I ended going to Baxters auto parts and bought 14 in. side emitting diode strips that went very nicely around the inside on the mirrors. Yes they are very bright but it is only when I turn
