• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Seeing there are a bunch of us going to be all spread out all over the place I thought it would be better to meet in town along the ride route.

The plan is to meet at the BP/Wendy's on the Asheville Highway in Greeneville TN at 9am. Get there early and fuel up if you can because there's going to be a bunch of us. The plan is kickstands up by 9:15 and we'll make our way to the first stop in Hot Springs NC.

From there we'll have a little ride meeting and break up into groups. We'll have a "Spirited Ride" group and a "Taking it Easy" ride group.
I've been on guided ride groups from the Pro's and this is how they do it and it seems to work out great. Nobody will be left behind and nobody should ride any faster than they are happy with, ride your own ride as they say.:doorag:

This is a fun ride and not a race. If anyone is riding unsafe and is a danger to themselves or others they will be asked to leave the group. I don't want anyone winding up in a ditch or worst. :lecturef_smilie:

From Hot Springs we'll take the 209 "The Rattler" and stop at the store so folks can get their t-shirts or whatever else they might like to take home.

We'll leave the store and then it's a short ride to Wheels Through Time. Dale and his crew will be expecting us. After our visit to WTT those that want to go on can follow me over to Deals Gap and then we'll take the Foot Hills Parkway back toward home. I figure we can get lunch at the Dragon or if you're going to split off there are plenty of places to eat in Maggie Valley.

If you don't want to do the Dragon you can split off from there and do whatever you like. You can head back to my place too if you want as I know some folks will still be there wrenching on Spyders. This is a nice days ride but it is a full day. We don't do a lot of miles but it takes a lot of time on the miles we dodo ;)

Click on the picture for the map to where we're meeting. If you have any questions let me know. :doorag:

Like the idea of breaking up the rides. That way everybody has a good time with no pressure.

I know which ride me and Hubby are taking.

Sounds like a great day on the Spyders, with some GREAT people.
Wish I was there with everyone!

Ryde Safe and be sure to post ALL the pictures you can for those of us that couldn't make it this year!

Darn Lamont that sure does seem like a fun ryde day. :ohyea: I really like the part about breaking into two groups. You've got me thinking about coming down a day earlier now. I initially made my reservation at the Hampton for 3 day anyway just in case. I will have to ponder this option while out ryding this weekend.

Are you going to take the Foothills Pky on the other side of the Dragon or come back over the Dragon again? There seems to be a Foothills on both sides.
Will take the TN side of the FP back home.

The Store for 'The Rattler' is where? Hot Springs? Somewhere else? Does the store have a name other than The Store?

Teddy & I can't wait * We had a BLAST ryding with you last year * GOOD TIMES !!!

 :doorag:

We did the Rattler in Maggie last year, good ride. Look forward to that again along with the other rides. I do agree with you on the dangerous riders, no place for them in a group ride.

REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS!

Hmmmm, I'm not sure which ryde I will choose. I know Bruiser will probably want the "Spirited Ride". I'm spirited, but don't know if I should just "take it easy". Guess I'll decide when we get there. Will be there sometime Wednesday evening - just going to take our time.:clap:
