• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2009 info

Okay wise guy, don't you have some mods to order? :2thumbs:

No major changes from what I have been told, but there will be some cool new factory accessories, including a billet licence plate frame holder, a billet anti-vibration handlebar kit, and of course the ultra touring windshield. There may be more, but those are the ones I know about at this time.

When I was at my dealer picking up my se5, the sales manager called BRP for some warranty info and asked about any new changes for the 09 and was just told the price increase of $700 for the 09 models.

I can only hope that my order doesn't reflect a $700 increase, when my Spyder arrives. And, as it is now; it's likely that mine might be a 2009 model.

OK..here is some crazy dealer stuff for ya. I took my buddy that just got back from the war to go buy his Spyder from the same dealer I got mine from. They give us a big discount on accessories and have great customer support. Walking in there is like a Cheer's episode..everyone says..Norm..well no not really but nice guys.
OK back to the story, so he wanted a red one but wanted red sm5 back when he first started looking at them. OK...so that only comes in 2009 model with the extra cost and lord knows when you might get it. Well this dealer has a Silver on order in someone else's name, but that person does not want it so my buddy puts down his 1000 and along come the spyder in a couple of weeks since it was orded back in the summer. So then the dealer calls his rep and come to find out, it "MIGHT" be a 2009 but in BossWeb, they really don't have a way to tell since BRP seems to have decided to start making 2009 models as of just a couple of days ago..not sure but that is the word on the street. So the dealer is unsure at this point if a 2008 or 2009 will show up and I don't think BRP was real sure either based on the conference call we had. Strange. FYI..the difference in the 2009 are still really unknown except for the price. We went to 3 dealers yesterday and not a one knew anything about the 2009 model. I know Director got some info from his dealer so maybe his is better than mine..lol.

Either way, his spyder is on the way and he will be signing up soon.

There is one digit in the VIN that indicates year. I think it's the 8th or 9th digit. 2008 = 8... 2009 = 9.
