• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Vendor Experiences

Short of Lamont, I've bought as many accessories for the Spyder as anyone so I thought I'd share my experiences dealing with various vendors.

BRP (Service issues) - Customer service is next to useless but I found if you cry loudly enough, you'll be assigned a Customer Service Specialist (or something similar). They were very attentive and helpful in resolving my brake squeak issues. :sour:

NoMagicNeon (Too many to list!) - This is the bar. Customer service is the best anywhere and Evan knows his stuff. The folks actually use their Spyder and it shows in the attention to detail. Products arrive quicker than I thought possible. :2thumbs:

Kewlmetal (bars, console, GPS mount) - KM gets an A++ for innovation and variety. They do some amazing work on a lot of killer bikes (check out their gallery sometime). Matt is very helpful and returns my calls quickly. But don't expect to get a live person when you call even during business hours. Also, you can't order online.

Evoluzione (performance air filter) - Quick shipping and great products. I have not dealt directly with Ken and I've had no problems with my purchase thus I can't comment on customer service. :)

F1 Windshields (F1 Slide Windshield) - I ordered a sliding windshield last week and spoke directly to Marcel. He assured me the shield would arrive before Friday so I'll reserve judgment until then. I will say he was very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Gatorglass (gatorglass) - Stumbled across these guys on the Akuma site and gave them a try in hopes of creating a replacement for the BRP logo. These folks do NOT have it together. They don't return calls and charge outrageous prices. They clearly did not want my business.

Ironpony (Crusader helmet) - Amazing customer service, great selection, and fast shipping.

Star Rotors (HIDs) - Avoid these guys at all costs. They sell "HID's" for the Spyder on eBay. The HID's do not fit the Spyder and their service is awful. I'm pretty sure they outright lied to me about having a "Spider".

Industries7
(tank bag, throttle lock) - Terrible website, slow to return calls, but they offer some interesting stuff. They responded to email in a reasonable amount of time. Until I can order their products from a local dealer (in the States), I'm not in a hurry to buy anything else.

Performance Motorsports (too many to list) - This is my local cycle shop where I order my gear, grips, pegs, speakers, bags, and everything else NMN doesn't sell. I typically get a 25-40% discount on stuff here. Seriously. Awesome.

All About Bikers (neoprene masks) - Holy mother of all that's terrible- wow. I ordered two neoprene masks- one red and one black. I've received 2 black masks and a doormat. I placed my order in May and they're still trying to make it right.

Bushtec (hitch) - My hitch will be installed next week. Customer service has been great and they sent me some great literature. I did have to get over my southern prejudice. Their technician talks like Larry the Cable Guy which concerned me.

Corbin (seats, backrests) - Helpful customer service, terrible instructions, slow order fullfilment, great proucts. :dontknow:

Airhead Graphx (paint job) - Great guy with a lot of talent and class. Hard to beat prices too. :2thumbs:

Talon (alarm) - Top notch customer service and fantastic alarms. They are very responsive.

Thanks for the info

Sounds like you buy lots of accessories. I can't wait to get my highway peg brackets from bikebilletparts. Thanks again.

With all the new peeps showing up here lately, I think this deserves a sticky post at the top...or near it anyway. Not just for the comment but a nice list of vendors so peeps dont keep asking. I know, some are on the front page but peeps like me don't go to the front page..lol.

re venders

they are in the process of making it. Customer service has been outstanding. If the order is not right they make it right. They Charge a fair price (remember are venders have to keep the lights on to) and have so far to date have been very good to me. So the best supporting venders for 2008 are:
No Magic Neon & Kewl Metals
I would also like to add spyderlovers to it's kind of own cat. You can access more info on this site than the brain can handle. you get priceless infomation, tips not to mention some great friends.

Lamont, BRP should have you your own private office by now?

Thanks,

Sorry, part of my post cut off. as to the first part of my last post.

At first I ordered from eveyone. Now I have limited my purchases to to venders. If they have not made it. They are in the process of making it or they can get it.

Cal-Sci. Without a doubt the best web site, instant confirmation email, shipped same day, got tacking number automatically and delivered within 2-3 days. Now they set the bar for me. :2thumbs:

I guess I don't see a problem with the Evoluzione website.

You can navigate easily and order any item listed online without calling them.

Maybe you wanted more info?

I've dealt with a few of the same folks that daddydarko has and I agree with his assessments. NoMagicNeon rates an A+ for sure.

I would like to add Powersports4less.com
TeacherBob runs this and I have gotten a few great products from him along with a SpyderLovers 5% discount.

Me three.

(Speaking of accents, Marcel and his wife laughed at me when I told them how I pronounced our (German) family name...I still bought the F1.)

...And I'd like to add NewEnough for general motorcycle accessories, the most detailed photos, descriptions, and installation guides and tips right there online before you buy. It is where I bought all my Nelson-Rigg luggage. Both NewEnough and Nelson-Rigg's customer service are absolutely excellent.

For those of you who wear riding jackets/pants MotoLiberty has stellar service. I bought all my Olympia gear from them & will replace the jacket/pants I trashed in July when the time comes from them.
