• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I recently had service done at the dealer and had it hooked up to BUDS for any codes and other updates. I think previously when I would park after a ride and turned the key off the fan would run for a short time. It no longer does this. Is this something to be checked or is it just a BUDS update or change?

Did you check the fuse and the relay? I'd report it to the dealer. It may be temperature related, but it may be a failure of some kind just as easily.

I think you meant to post this in the Spyder RS Shop talk forum.

If the temp doesn't get up to 5 bars the fan will not turn on. There have been times when I shut the bike off and the fan will not run, especially when it is cool outside. I have '10 RTS.

No Bars

I don't have no stinking bars!:joke: I still have the analog gauge hooked up so I don't know how 5 bars relates to analog reading. Anyway it has been a lot cooler here lately so maybe nothing to worry about.

The analog gauge is marked in 1/8s. The digital gauge (at least on the RS) has eight bars. They are about the same. When running, the fan on the RT seems to come on around the 5/8 mark...at least on either of my RTs.

Okay thanks. I'll keep an eye on it to see when or if the fan comes on at those marks on my gauge.

Okay I rode thru town today and temp. gauge never went above 4.5 or 5. I never heard the fan kick on but it must have because in the slow moving traffic it should shown higher temps. I am guessing everything is okay and its just my paranoia kicking in worrying about it.

Today it was in the low 70's when I returned from breakfast and my workout at the Y. I pulled into the garage and sat for a few seconds and waited for the gauge to get to about 5. When I shut it down the fan did come on ( was already on) and ran for and few seconds. I feel better now.
