• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New owner questions!

:2thumbs: Yes, it is a battery tenderizer for motorcycle batteries.

 Most tenders come with a pig tail an accessory plug and alligator clips, I would use the pig tail or the accessory plug, Which is Much easier to use and with the clips there's always a chance to spark when you attach them to the battery,.

Teddy & I would like to say Congrats on the New Ryde & Welcome to the SpyderHood

:congrats: & :welcome:

I was hoping we lived closer, but sadly about 300 miles from you. As you've found, this is the :firstplace: site on the WWW for ANYthing & EVERYthing Spyder Related;)

As for knowing other local Spyder Ryders, OHIO does have a very well organized club with their own WebSite and all and can be found at www.OhioSpyderRyders.org and they are a great and helpfull group much like here :clap:and offer many group rydes throughout the year.

Just an FYI, since your new, Teddy & I will be passing by your way on Tuesday inroute to SITA (Spyder In The Adirondacks) in the Lake Placid Area of New York. Its a Great get-together of Spyder Owners and if you can make it, I'd Highly recommend it as you'd get to see just about every Spyder mod you can think of

:congrats::2thumbs: now you found the best place for spyders information.make sure you read the does and donts for new spyder riders ,good info, and if you do what is said you might never see limp mode:yikes: not a good thing, after that ride like the wind and have fun.:2thumbs:

@CyncySpyder - thanks for the info! Would love to meet you both - would love to go to the event but we only have our temporary MC licenses - so, we aren't supposed to be riding together yet. Grrrr...... I really want to take a small road trip so badly! We really, really need it. Have had a horrific month with 3 family member deaths and need some down time. I have joined the Ohio group - the same night I joined this one! My DH just rolls his eyes at me!! ;) What am I getting us into now!! :roflblack:

Ok, have called the dealership about the foam - the owner didn't think there was any type of foam used in the packing, "but I wouldn't really know, that's not my job to unpack them". Oy, vey! So, have talked to the gentleman who does that and wants me to bring it out- DH is now talking to them to push for them to drive out to us with a trailer. We shall see how that goes!! He did say that there is a thin white foam used in packing, but it "should have all been removed" before delivery. Life is fun!!!:gaah:

New toy is left at dealership!

Boy, do I just love how some men discount what you have to say as a woman...grrrr...guess what! There is white foam packing material underneath the instrument panel. Not their fault if course - someone at the factory must have left it on during assembly. So, they have to take her apart and see what all is going on and where it is coming from. Thanks for the push - helped me to feel not so dumb when I had to insist the dealership look at it!
