There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Question to Lamont about the recall on the AMFM radio water check (Bulletin 2012-6):

Do you know, or who can I ask, why only 2011 and 2012 models of spyders are being checked for water entering the AMFM radios via the antenna cable? I guess they check to see if all is OK and if so they shrink wrap around the antenna going in to keep water out or repair module if water entered module.

Is this NOT a problem on the 2010 RTs? did the AMFM Radio modules change in 2011 and 2012?

thanks!!!!

clueless :)

The radio unit itself is different so maybe only the new versions are effected. :dontknow:

My 2010 had the issue and was replaced under warranty. They were real good about getting it done. It was thought that was the cause of my battery drain, but...................

Are you saying water may enter the radio module where the antenna connects to the unit? If so, coax-seal tape http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=180-205
or shrink wrap should do the job. What about the other connectors (ipod, etc.)? And the CB module?

Lamont > Thanks! I was thinking that was the case if they did not list 2010 models in the bulletin.

Dave01> Bummer, that you had the issue. I hope it was not the same issue that they say does not affect the 2010 RT radios.

1551retired> I guess that is what is says that water runs down the antenna cable and into the module. not sure why its only the AMFM unit but it a different antenna connection on a CB antenna versus AMFM antenna.

Does anyone have a copy of Bulletin 2012-6?
