There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Corbin vs. Ultimate Seats Which is better?

I've always preferred ultimate. I now have the ultimate on my spyder.so far, it has met my expectations

Corbin. Had three, loved them all, had one Ultimate, sold it after one season. It will take you one tank of gas to determine which is the best for you.

Ultimate :)

I've had both. Corbin on (Honda and RS) and Ultimate (Honda and now on RT). Thumbs up and smiles of Ultimate comfort and quality once again.

Rode hundreds of miles this week and no complaints.

Corbin is a harder seat and is comfortable, but my tushy loves the Ultimate seat. There was no break in for comfort on both my Ultimate seats. The con for Ultimate is not waterproof, but has the "frog toggs" material seat cover and works 100%.

The Corbin cream works great to keep either seats in nice condition.

This is almost like a Blondes versus Brunettes versus Redheads discussion...
The safest answer is,
"Yes!" :2thumbs:

Yup. Certain questions on here are just that kind of answer yet hard to know what is right for you (also MAC vs PC or you name it)! Harley now has the "try a seat" program at the dealers - we don't have that even with the BRP comfort seat :sour:.

First thing I did with my RT was to install an Ultimate seat! Had (2) Ultimates before on my Yamaha Venture, and then on the Goldwing. The Ultimate for the Spyder is very, very comfortable for me and my long distance road riding! Have used Corbin in the past, and was OK, but the Ultimate is much better, IMHO. Seats are like shoes; one may give you a blister, and the other is just right. You never know until you take the plunge, and then hope it suits you. Any one is much better than the stock factory seat! Guzzi

That wouldn't be a bad idea; pick . ..errrrr..... choose your seat at the time of sale. The delaers might only have to stock one or two extras... BRP could front them as part of the program!

Oh don't I wish dealers would have the capability to let you try out these custom seat options. I understand fully, why they don't.

I'm not a long distance rider so don't get to these Spyder events. I know that that's the place to try out custom seats. In the meantime, I just can't up and buy something I haven't ever tried out. I'm so afraid I might make a costly mistake. So, I suffer. I'm in a catch 22. The stock seat is so uncomfortable that I don't do long distances. And I can't do the long distance to get to a Spyder event to try out someone's seat. Oh well. This summer has been so hot, I can't justify the expense of a custom seat for the amount of riding I do. The beadrider beads at least keep me cool!

Corbin vs. Ultimate Seat

I just ordered a Corbin for my RS, it should be here in the next week or so. I have tried the gel pads, beads covers and the Air Hawk 2. And I can't get the mileage out of them that I would like to have. I get about 125 to 150 miles on the Spyder when my rear end says, Ill stay here you go on with out me. So I had to do something. I hope the Corbin works for me it's a lot of money for me. Thanks, Stan Ride Safe & Long

Noooo! Seriously, just get EITHER seat, you'll be happy with either over the stock seat. And if you're not, then just sell it and go back to the stock seat.

:agree: I use the Beadriders and an Alaska Sheepskin over them and it works good for 120 Miles But I can,t even afford to travel till next summer. If No New Great Model comes out I might spring for an Ultimate?

Actually, I just saw on the website that Ultimate offers a 14 day trial period where if you don't like it they will refund you. So - not a "try before you buy" but at least you have little risk and some install time invested in trying their product.

I always read seat reviews because that has always been my first and most important accessory, and I appreciate comments from others. In 1983 I bought a Diamond Custom Seat for my Yamaha Venture, and I liked it so well I have had 2 more, on another Venture and my Gold Wing, for about 200,000 miles of comfortable riding. He builds them based on weight & inseam of the rider and passenger. I tried a Corbin on my BMW but found it was too firm, as have many others whose reviews I have read over the years. And Corbin says so also--they like to build them firm.

I'm picking up my RT Limited tomorrow and will put some miles on the stock seat, but I'm not optimistic. I've never found a stock seat comfortable enough. I'll have to send my stock seat to Diamond to build my custom seat, so I'll probably wait until winter to do that. I'm hoping to have him modify the backrest also, so it is a little wider or flatter, not quite so tight. I guess I'll have to consider how that will work with arm rests also. Has anyone had this done?

One other comment regarding the Diamond seats--they are available in a velour fabric seat material. I have the velour on my current Gold Wing seat (63,000 miles) and really like it--it's cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, and does not make your butt sweat (well, I guess it does in this 100 + temperature we've had lately). The disadvantage is that it's best to cover it when there's rain around, because it the fabric dries more slowly than plastic.

When you find something that works, stick with it! I'm going to get another Diamond.

That sounds like a good deal Thanks.

Thanks for all the input folks I appreciate it. I know its all about personal pref. but its good to know if one stands out as most popular. I have had corbin seats in the past but that is it. Diamond is a new one to me I have not heard of them.:)
