• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Uh-oh...

As much as I liked the Boy's...uhhhh... appetites; I'm just too much of a die-hard fiscal Conservative to want to be like him...Sorry! :opps:

belt adjustment

Bob...have you had a chance to have your belt looked at yet? I'm still waiting for a wiring harness to come in so I can have them both done the same day. My sprocket is nice and shiny from the belt rubbing but the dealer doesn't seem too concerned....but then it isn't his ride either.Hopefully I can get mine done next week.

I did take a closer peek...
I've got just a little bit of clearance between the belt and the flange; (Maybe .030")
It's not rubbing, making any funky sounds, and the front sprocket is nailed down solidly to its shaft...
WHEW!

Bob,

Before I had my rear tire replaced last year on my 2008 GS I could visibly see a space between the belt and flange (looking at the rear). After the replacement I could not see a space; but, did not notice any black particles from the belt on the rear wheel from rubbing. I also tried the 1/2 twist method mid belt (to check tension) and that checked out okay. I'm assuming that there is actually a space between the belt and flange b/c of the lack of black particles. Since I'm taking the spyder in Monday for its 21,000 mile maintenance, I'm wondering if I should have them check the belt alignment?

I would for sure, you're already there so why not let them give you a thumbs up on the alignment and the tension?
