• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Strange Display

Desert Spyder

Every once in awhile my water temp on the cluster on my RT gives an erroneous display. I have disconnected the analog gauges btw. I would be cruising along, every normal, water shows yellow, then all of a sudden it shows grey/blue with one bar not lit. I know the bike is not hot but I am at a loss what is going on here. After I shut the bike off and restart everything is back to normal. The fuel display is unaffected. Anybody have any ideas?

1st I've heard of this

:dontknow: Sorry, no help here. Not experienced this nor heard of anyone else having this exact same issue. Please keep us informed if it gets worse or you figure out the issue. I know on our 2010 RT-S, we did have an issue where I could wipe my gloved hand over the clear plastic bezel covering the LCD and it would go blank every now and then, so I just didn't do that -LOL- Never found the issue & traded that one in on Teds Red Sled, so no clue. Good luck, sometimes these computer based systems just have glitches :dontknow:

LOL at that approach, Dave. Reminds me of the little tale you hear where someone tells the doctor "Hey, Doc, it hurts when I do this" and the Dr. replies "well, don't do that then!" :roflblack:

That sounds like the display for the rear suspension. It is not a valid display unless you have the air pump. I've had mine come on when I pressed one of the buttons on the controller for the radio. Look closely on the top and the bottom and you'll see the shock absorber with springs around it. It should go back to the normal display without you having to shut off the bike but it may take a minute or so.

You should also see it when you select neutral and sometimes reverse.

Good thing CaptBlack came up with a good answer becasue I was thinking that Brian was suffering from heat stroke and was hallucinating. :roflblack:

We have a 2011 A & C. This model does not offer the automatic air suspension. Twice now, when booting up, I have seen the shock position bar light up on the panel--then it goes away. I have not yet disconnected the analog gauges on the A & C because the gas gauge is still working. I do have the gauges disconnected on the 2010 RT-S. I seems like a computer glitch to me also.

It is the rear shock adjustment graphic. I'll bet your rear cargo door open messages do not work either. Check post 7 on this thread for instruction on how to fix it.

I had the exact same issue. Post 7 in this thread tells you how to fix it. Fairly easy, and this one thing fixes both issues.

How strange. You're right! The rear cargo door doohickey does not work. I don't have the air pump so I would never associate this display with that. Thanks J and all.

P.S. I went on a PGR mission today. After the service I had a dead battery in the cemetery. Bad pun. I always use the kill switch before switching off. This time I forgot to switch off. With all the lights it didn't take long to drain that poor little battery. Someone said turn off the lights. How? And I've never seen so many different types of jumper cables in my life! Bikers! I went out a bought my own pair at a cycle shop right afterwards.
